Exterior Finished

Discussion in 'Modified / Tuned Cars' started by Mott Power, May 28, 2010.

  1. It's been a while, but I finally finished the exterior for the upcoming summer. Went back to the stock bumper with a Cupra R lip as well as a very efficient oil cooler and KW Variant 3 coilovers; it's weird that the car actually oversteers...

Anyways, thought some of you might be interested to see how the car has changed over the winter since I last posted pictures in the fall.
  2. Good to see some updates. What's the deal with the clips on the bumper?
  3. I was gonna ask the same thing.

Too much piping coming out of the nose and I don't really care for the wheels.

    Still a cool car.
  4. looks very cool, loose the clips though and try to cover the down of the bumper were the intercooler is with some silvery net or a black one.
  5. Wow. I love your car. Not sure the RPF1's are right for it, though. Even NT03+M's would be more fitting.
  6. thanks for the compliments, guys!

the clips are just quick release latches, I've been working on the car so much that it began to be a pain taking it on and off from the stock mounting points. so, all I have to do is un-clip those latches and two springs from behind the grill and it's off.

i do have plans to get the stock side covers and put a mesh over them to hide the pipping more, but until i can weld some new pipping to fit behind the bumper more, then I can't put them on at the moment. but i know exactly what you're all thinking.

and I was torn between the NT03's and the RPF1's but I dunno, I've always loved the RP's so I just pulled the trigger since I have never seen them before on a B5; and at 16.7 lb's each they are phenomenally light and with all the suspension upgrades I've done, just make for outstanding handling considering all the unsprung weight saved (compared to my last wheels at least). however the NT's wouldn't have been much heavier and I do regret not getting them instead from time to time.

i hope to get the bumper finished within the next week or two since the car is on jack stands getting a new clutch for the time being. so I'll see if I can't muster up the motivation to do that as well; I've just been doing so much work on the car recently that i have no more motivation to do anything on the car that isn't necessary to make it run properly.

Blitz; I was reading your through your thread (I still love your Evo 9: I'm somewhat jealous) and definitely get a re-tune! Even for a mustang dyno, you should be seeing better numbers with a leaner fuel ratio.
  7. yeah I hate these wheels too.

    Awesome ride nonetheless, I love it <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/cool.gif"></A>
  8. Hey thanks! I still contend that one of the few cars I would consider trading mine for is a built K04/K16 B5 S4, so it's mutual. I'll always have a soft spot for them.

There is a local shop called Touge Factory that special orders these flat black 18x9.5 +27 NT03's. The only reason I don't pick up a set is that the offset makes the fronts poke a bit too much for my liking. I think they would look fantastic on your S4 (obviously different bolt pattern/whatever).
  9. i kinda like the exposed piping.........gives it a hardcore look when the rest of the car is civilized.

  10. you're in Wisconsin? come hang out with us for ALMS at road america
  11. Definitely, I'm already scheduling to camp at the carrousel for the weekend. Shoot me a PM on what your plans are!
  12. We'll be there for sure. I'm seriously excited to see your car in person.
