Unless he can't totally connect with his newborn. Not saying that will happen, but it does. It happened to me and it happened to another friend of mine who had a baby last year. It's really discouraging and frustrating. The baby is 1000% dependent on its mother for everything and there isn't a whole lot for the father to do even though you want to do everything. There's a reason it's called the 4th trimester. The best thing yo can do is focus that support on your wife, because she will be exhausted and cranky for a while. Then there will be a day. You won't expect it, it'll just happen. It'll be like a high five between father and baby minds. That's the best day.
