I prefer the F40 because it's turbo and it's meaner.

2. F40 is faster in acceleration of F50, in fact like you will be able to see on these 2 tests, passes from 0-200km/h in 11.3s and 0-260km/h in approximately 20.2s. F50 has a standing start better 0-100km/h 4.1s, but to 200km/h it arrives after 12.4s and in 20.1s F50 is to 250km/h.
After 1km standing start F40 it arrives in 20.9s @ 263km/h and F50 in 21.3s @ 252km/h. F50 is faster in curve (R: 55m) 1.12g, I do not have the data for F40 but creed approximately 1.05g.
Creed that F50 is faster on slow-track, F40 is faster on fast-track.

Ah, the number people, well you can count the numbers as long as you want, thats fine, its cool. But just to let you know, that you won't be counting numbers in the dashboard when you're racing or driving these things, you'll probably want to look out the windshield instead, I'd say drop the numbers and get on with the wheel.

Heres a question:
What makes the Ferrari F50 and the Aston Martin Vanquish so exceptional from the other supercars by having this on similarity?

Whats the similarity they have that makes them special, and not like most of the other cars?

Not nessasarily. I've autocrossed both the F40 and the F50. I obtained faster times with my F40.

6. Re: F40 is faster in straight ; F50 is faster in curve...

I don't think so.
F50 is much more faster than F40 in straight. I have drove both cars before. When i was driving F50 in Japan, the car's performance is good.out . F50 did 0-400m in 11.1 seconds (204.1km/h)That's means F50 can make 0-200km/h in arounnd 11 second, which is much more faster than F40.

7. Re: F40 is faster in straight ; F50 is faster in curve...

1/4mile in 11.1s is time from McLaren F1(627hp-1138kg).
F50 (520hp-1350kg) cannot mathematically make 11.1s.
F50 comes down difficult under 12s in 0-200km/h.
F50 can make 11.1s with Koenig tuning (638hp)!!!!!
Ferrari declares 12.1 (0-1/4mile) and 21.7 (0-1km)!!!!
Creed that 11.9s is a good time for F50!!
F40 can make better (11.7s @126.5mph)!

Boys, we do not say not real things!!!
We do not say not real things!!!

I have been to many meeting Ferrari in track, and in straight it is visible that F40 is faster!!

To make to see me...... "11.1s @ 204.1km/h ".... cannot make 0-200 in 10.7/10.8s!!!!
Only 993GT1 can make 0-200 in 10.6s, but it has 544hp" twinturbo " on 1150kg and 1/4mile 11.7s.

I speak with test pilot Ferrari in Mugello, and he say that in straight F40 is faster, but less easy and less fast in curve.

I have understood!!!

Our friend " Kenchok " uses the 1/4 mile Calculator!!

Compliments!!!!

Try with F40 (478hp/2425lb)!

1/4 MILE CALCULATOR is not "REAL"!!

I don't really care what anyone says. I've autocrossed both and here are the numbers to show that the F40 is faster. My best times that day in my buddy's F50 was 56.82 seconds. On the same course, the same day with my F40, my time was a mere 54.93 seconds. Granted, I do obviously feel more comfortable pushing my personal car than I do pushing a buddy's pricey F50, but he also obtained faster times in my car! And as you all should know, autocrossing is 99% about cornering. The keys to a good track time are braking as late as possible, picking steady, smooth, and consistant lines through the corners, shifting gears briskly, and accelerating out of the corners quickly. The F40 is king at this. It could have something to do with the fact the F40 weighs 500lbs less than the F50.

It could have something to do with the fact that the F40 has shorter wheelbase and a lot of other facts. Try them booth on a faster track, maybee the F50 will come more to it's right.

14. Re: F40 is faster in straight ; F50 is faster in curve...

ok i dont know where you get these stats from but they are not correct. find out the real test stats by the actual people that tested it at the fiorano circuit that work for ferrari. the f50 is a bit heavier but it does have about 30BHP more than the f40 and more torque. it has a different suspension than the f40 it has alot more downforce and it is still faster on the straight aways and alot faster going into and coming out of corners. the new enzo is alot better than the f50 which seemed like it could not be improved much more. the f50 had to be legaly limited because of noice and emissions regulations. the enzo was not as limited but it is still capable of alot more than it is doing and going to do. and another thing turbos are not necessarely better because you will have a tough time driving them on the streets and turbos just dont belong o a ferrari(f40) they belong on shit box honda civics that cannot be naturally asperated to be a race car. i m tired of people dogging the improvements that ferrari has put on their cars.

15. Re: F40 is faster in straight ; F50 is faster in curve...

even if your stats might be true the f50 was not built to be faster than the f40 ferrari would just gain more BHP if that was the case they probobly wanted to make it better for cornering and better for racing and a smoother ride for the people driving. perhaps you didn't think of why ferrari did what they did there are many conclusions to what they might have done but i think its a matter of all you ferrari doggers not using your heads?

when calculating 1/4 times you must keep in mind aerdoynamics as well as wait and power.

17. Re: F40 is faster in straight ; F50 is faster in curve...

Calculations can be wrong like ***. Tell me how 400nm and 280hp and 1300kg lancer loses to nissan skyline in straight when it comes out of the curve and loses on track also? skyline has under 400nm torque and same hp but over 300kg more weight but same acceleration so why couldnt f50 be as fast as someone has tried?

18. Re: F40 is faster in straight ; F50 is faster in curve...

Smoother ride for people? LOL, yea their goal was to make the car more comfortable.

19. Re: F40 is faster in straight ; F50 is faster in curve...

OMG I saw the F40 the other day in San Diego California comming off the freeway. It was spectacular I don't think i'll ever see an F40 again. But the F40 is mean. I love it. But i like the F50 a bit better because it's more rough on the designs giving it a unique flavor.

20. Re: F40 is faster in straight ; F50 is faster in curve...

I think the F50 is faster in straight and in curves....

The F50 did 0-60 mph in 3.6 sec( Motor Trend) and a top speed of 207 mph.

21. Re: F40 is faster in straight ; F50 is faster in curve...

Gearing, power curve.

22. Re: F40 is faster in straight ; F50 is faster in curve...

This car is fast...

23. Re: F40 is faster in straight ; F50 is faster in curve...

As I said on another thread, both cars are unique and beautiful; but, back in 1995 I read an article in a magazine and it said that in a test at Ferrari's track at Fiorano, the F50 ran almost 2 seconds a lap quicker than the F40.

Now from what I know, 2 seconds on a track like Fiorano is significant, because it's not a very long track. So the F50 might be a little quicker than its predecessor after all (which by NO means makes the F40 less of a SUPERcar than it is).

24. Re: F40 is faster in straight ; F50 is faster in curve...

the f50 was made as the new version of the f40..its like how with mercedes and other companys with numbers..they just make a higher number and they make it faster than the last one. they wanted a newer better and cleaner designed version of the f40
