Yes, it's an outstanding feat. I just don’t know why the ending of it was not controversial, because of what the people said about the Austria grand prix. Perhaps it’s only controversial when someone is letting Schumacher win, and not the other way around.

ferrari also broke Mclaren's record for most points in a season with over 200

  4. Re: Ferrari 1-2 at Indy

Yeah, and if Ferrari wins in Japan will equal McLaren record, obtained in 1988, of most wins in a season, 15. The only thing that is missing is the record of most 1-2 in a season, also obtained by McLaren in 1988.

  5. Re: Ferrari 1-2 at Indy

McLaren's 1988 record was more impressive because they only had 16 GP in that year and a win was only worth 9 points instead of 10, under the current scoring McLaren would have scored 214 points in 16 races in 1988.

besides. they were aloud to race each other back then. Unlike now, they fix the finishes. The finish at indy pissed me off. they should stop screwing the sport and just race.

I must disagree with SaYjAiBaO, team orders are in Formula 1 since it began, and will always be in Formula 1. People can say that other motorsports his better than Formula 1 because they don’t use team orders. But every one forgets something, the investment made in the others sports doesn’t even come near with the ones made in Formula 1, so it’s understandable that they do what ever his in their reach to classify for the best championship position. Formula 1 his much more than a team sport than any other motorsport. It’s like football, you don’t see every player in the field trying to score a goal, others are there to prevent the other team to score. The same thing happens in Formula 1.

Good post, you should post in the racing forums.

  9. Re: Ferrari 1-2 at Indy

Yes they prevent the other teams from scoring. I also understand why Ferrari rather has schumi winning than RB winning. Simply because of the investors, but what do the investors get when there are nobody watching f1? Team orders were introduced to help the cars to finish the race, not to rig it.

  10. Re: Ferrari 1-2 at Indy

How many years do you watch Formula 1?

  11. Re: Ferrari 1-2 at Indy

That's not true. When the Prost/Senna saga flared up at Imola in 1989, Prost said they had an agreement "as they did many times last year."

  12. Re: Ferrari 1-2 at Indy

Anti-Schuamcher fans tend to forget minor details like that.

    I know but that's no reason not to point it out. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  15. Re: Ferrari 1-2 at Indy

lol, but we can't even look further in F1 and see team orders, even in the time of Fangio.<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

Esp in the time of Fangio!

  19. Re: Ferrari 1-2 at Indy

yeh! i mean back then when the teams first drivers car broke down in a race they called the second driver in and gave the first driver his car(they split the points)!

  20. Re: Ferrari 1-2 at Indy

Yep, that's how Fangio won the 1956 championship!
