I prefer the looking of the Barchetta

  9. Re: Fiat Barchetta or Mazda MX5?

I'd take the FIAT, it's cool, somewhat quick and midengined.
Yhat might just be me though after all look at my username.

    Mazda MX5/Miata/Roadster.

It has rear-wheel-drive, that means more fun; also has superior handling - the rest just depends on your design-preference as they are pretty similar; i can recommend both of them.

by the way: the barchette isn't midengined

Mx 5, for rwd and handling, barcetta for looks

  19. Re: Looks loke a cheap slow Ferrari 550

Yeah, there is some resemblance to 550 Barchetta.
In fact, I think this is a 550 Barchetta... built by Ned Flanders, HAHA!
Anyway, the Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina looks 10000 times better than this.

Great little fiat.. stunning looks, decent engine, good handling.. what is not to like? Remember when it comes to modern front wheel drive cars, (the mini, saab, and Audi do not qualify) Fiat started it all with the 128. They were the first to put the engine longetudially in the engine bay with the tranny INLINE with the engine. So nobody has been doing it longer than Fiat. It has paid off too.. of the faster front wheel drive fiats, Strada Abarth 130tc, Tipo, Coupe (even the lancia beta and delta .. not the intergrale) all share something in common.. no torque steer.

I agree that front wheel drive cannot transmit the power as well as rear wheel drive, but, who buys a roadster for it's high speed antics anyway? A roadster is about style.. a carefree attidude, wind in your hair, sun on your face, out to have a good time... the fact that it can probably show it's rounded rump to most other cars in it's class is just the icing on th cake.

Looks loke a cheap slow Ferrari 550? thats a pretty good complement. Fiat knows its underpowered.

  22. Re: Looks loke a cheap slow Ferrari 550

I proclaim that you have no sense of style nor knowledge of car styling. No offense, but there are virtually no similarities in the design of this car as compared to the Ferrari 550.

  23. Re: Hubcaps

Good. It deserves credit, not because it's Italian, but because it is a genuinly nice car.

  24. Hubcaps

I've seen quite a number of Barchettas in my life (added 3 pics to the mainpage here), of which I'm 100% sure I've never seen any with hubcaps.

  25. Miata of course
