$$$,$$$ for a VW

I didn't intend it to be a lark, I intended it to be just.

Why yes, I do own a VW. I have a 2001 Beetle with the 1.8 turbo engine. It's fun. I traded in my 1974 Beetle for the downpayment. It was kind of a sad day. But, I REALLY like my new one.

I just thought of something someone else had posted in another thread, and that I had forgotten about.... one of the somewhat recent Bugatti concepts had a W-18 engine which was three rows of 6 cylinders versus the current prototype's W-16 which is four rows of four cylinders. Perhaps that's where our communications got crossed? <IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif">

I would love to own this car, I would gladly pay a 800 000 dollars for this one. It's got the looks and the power and it could kick the MacLarens ass so easy. Bugatti makes good cars and they aren't having any connections with VW other than in the contract. That's two completely different companies.

  5. Re: $$$,$$$ for a VW

VW? This is a Bugatti that was financially backed by VW and the numbers reflect that.
    So yes I'd buy this.<!-- Signature -->

This has nothing to do with the rest of this conversation, just the subject: YOU ARE A DUMB SHIT! THE STATS ON THIS SPEEDY MOTHER F*CKER ARE INCREDIBLE, ALMOST AS FAST AS THE CORVETTE L88 AND SLEDGEHAMMER; THE L88 HAD A JET ENGINE AND THE SLEDGEHAMMER HAD LIKE 80 TURBO CHARGERS. NOW COUNT THE CHARGES ON THE BUGATTI, AND SHOW ME A JET ENGINE. WHAT? THERE IS NONE? DUH, YOU DUMBASS!<!-- Signature -->

And I'll just throw in my .02 on this matter. You absolutely cannot compare this, or any other future Bugatti to your average Volkswagen car (like the Passat). If you do, you are ignorant, plain and simple. I don't have the link (I will try to find it), but when Volkswagen aquired Bugatti, VW CEO Ferdinand Piëch released a statement about VW's intentions for Bugatti.

They are essentially saving the company from disappearing into the deep catacombs of bankruptcy...they are not "merging" VW and Bugatti in any way. Just because the Volkswagen group owns Bugatti (as well as Audi, Seat, and Skoda) does not mean Bugatti's ARE Volkswagens. Not ONE SINGLE VW CAR shares any sort of chassis, engine, or other design as ANY BUGATTI (currently only the 16/4). And it will stay like that. Bugatti's are exclusive, and are manufactured exclusively from all other VW vehicles.

But, as always...ignorance (which stems mostly from a persons DEVOUT following to a specific car manufacturer, resulting in this said ignorance about any other car manufacturer) is everywhere on this board...

This car is sweet, and not many others can beat it.

  10. Re: $$$,$$$ for a VW

if someone ever spent $800 000+ on this car (with the exeption of the Royal Brunie Family) they should be shot in the face.. who in the hell would actually use this car to its full potential?? where on earth are you goin to go speeding down the road @ 250+mph!! at that speed it would take all 10 and a half seconds to run the gas tank down to empty.. i bet you could physically see the gas gauge moving down. with $800 000. i would rather retire early and live lavishly for the rest of my life.... i would get more enjoyment out of that than i would in this car...wouldn't you agree?

BTW.. stop making those 3 page long friggin signatures.. do you honestly think that anybody takes the time to read through it all.<!-- Signature -->

good effort mate! technically the bugatti isnt a VW, only built in the same factories, but a totally different scene, fast, with a 16mm chassis. and bugattis have always been worth it, look at thye EB110, the fastest road car of its time... now if that dont turn u on, u should leave this site! the fact that its stick to gear ratio isnt great is totally irrelevant, cos it does 0-62 in under 3.1 secs, which is pretty quick! who cares bout the price, if its too expensive, u just dont buy it! go buy a ferrari on 10,000 a year why dont you?

  12. Re: $$$,$$$ for a VW

VW has always made inexpensive cars. EX. It would be like Kia, getting way to over popular. And then deciding that they needed to buy Bugatti. Using some new engine they built, they have made a $500,000 KiaBugatti. It just isn't the same as Bugatti being Bugatti. <!-- Signature -->

  13. None of you will ever be able to afford this VW. So hear is my question, if one of you dreamers were to hit the jackpot. Would you buy this car? If you had a million dollars, would it be your dream to own a 6 figure Volkswagen? If the answer you write is yes, you are too stupid to have any money.<!-- Signature -->

"None of you will ever be able to afford this VW. "

Ha! I'll take that to be intended as lark.

By the way, did it occur to you that beauty is highly subjective?

  16. Re: $$$,$$$ for a VW

    Well
I mean , I think this makes no sense .
The car is good , has the most powerfull engine made for street cars till now , and well , is it bad just because it has an VW engine ?

I mean , it is the same thing as saying you are buying an audi , which by the way is owned by VW, when you buy a lamborghini murcielago , or say you are buying a fiat when you buy a ferrari , this is completely nonsense .

BTW , have you seen the VW phaeton ?

and for me , the germans are the best carmakers in the world

If I had a million dollars I would surely buy one of these .
Besides , no one would be able to catch me on the streets .

Why the hell does it matter who owns/makes it? It will still beat the hell of the Mclaren in the quarter, so its fast. And it looks good. So I suppose Porsches are worthless VWs too? Lame<!-- Signature -->

  18. Re: $$$,$$$ for a VW

Yes it is fast. Fast is one thing. Quality, craftsmanship, and heritage are another. The Bugatti EB110 is one of my all time favorite cars. VW has bought out the name, and is going to try and capitolize on it. If this car made 250hp, would everyone be yazzing on it? no, VW is making a frickin beast of a car with 1001hp, and thats what gets people going. I wouldn't be surprised if VW brings out this very same car with the VW badge on it, with less HP, and sells thousands and thousands of them. Because deep down it is a cheap car.<!-- Signature -->

  19. Re: $$$,$$$ for a VW

Lamborgini is owned by VW too. VW is a big company that owns many smaller companys like bugatti

No, it is not a cheap built car. How can you be so dense? Porsche is VW too, like Lexus is toyota. It doesnt mean shit what company owns another company, its made by its own set of designers, etc.<!-- Signature -->

  21. Re: $$$,$$$ for a VW

Porsche is like Volvo. VW ownes Porsche through Audi. Porsche make their cars the way they want, not what VW wants. Like Volvo, Volvo is owned by Ford, but Volvo makes the cars the way they want to.
    W16 engine is pure VW

Porsche isn't owned by VW. :|<!-- Signature -->

  23. Re: $$$,$$$ for a VW

Actually 800,000 is the price. This car is the best of a lot of things. For one perfomance, for two style, for three heritage. This car you can take out and race or just put on cruise at 95 and watch people stare at your car as it blows them away. yes i would be the person willing to pay money for this car. 1001 hp.

  25. Re: $$$,$$$ for a VW

Who cares if VW had a big part in the engineering behind this car? You know that Gordon Murray (designer of the McLaren F1) went to Honda for an engine and got turned down? That's when he went to BMW for the engine. I suppose if Honda had supplied the engine and it performed the same as the BMW engine that was supplied, you would be complaining that the McLaren is just a Honda and deep down that it's just a cheap car.
