For Seniors, New Years is also a time for...

1. Writing college applications. Any other Seniors in HS on board doing the same thing as I?

Anyways, I have sent all but one application (of the ones that are due on the 1st), I will send that other one tommorow. I have one more due on the 10th, and three more due on the 15th.
2. My dumbass procrastinated like a mutha on everything. I have shit piled up pretty good. I've already sent one away, and that's because it was due the day before I sent it. I'm done with the others, I just have to get the essays proofread and then click the submit button.
3. Yeah, I also procrastinated... my dad went all out on me for waiting so long, but I don't care.

You use the common app? What schools?
4. Nah, I just used their respective online apps. University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Old Dominion (back up school). I was going to do Howard, but their application was long as hell, so that wasn't going to happen. What about you?
5. IF they made me write applications I never would have bothered...
6. I wanted to apply to UVA, but that app was really long...

I applied to these schools...

Georgetown University
Carnegie Mellon University
Johns Hopkins University
Brown University
Washington University in St. Louis
Williams College
Tufts University
Colgate University
New York University
Boston College
7. Did you do it on the Computer?

I did the same, and all were sent electronically too. Except Georgetown.
8. The high school school did it all for me. I just told them where/what I wanted to do (and I put that off as long as possible)...

Edit -- makes more sense when you know Ontario has a common application process for all school, admissions is entirely according to your high school marks and you already knew what the reguirement for everything was (no SAT, no essays), and we had an extra year of high school back then for the kids going to uni' that was like uni'lite...
9. Holy crap, and those are like $50+ for each application fee.

What are you planning on majoring in? I'd assume something dealing with business or finance.
10. College applications are a #%!@. Im going to leave it at that.
11. No, I'm long done with that shit.
12. #$%# thats alot of colleges......I only applied to one college and that was in April. I got accepted in May.
13. you dumbass trailer trash.
14. Yeah, that makes sense... wish it worked that way over here.

Did you need teacher recs?
15. No teacher nothin'

They have a single guide for all the universities in the province which lists all the programs and the average and requirements you need to get in.

Things got tight for a year or two when they phased out that extra year of high school (so you had two graduating classes at the same time) but when I went it was a joke. I could have gotten into just about anything anywhere.

Getting into a "hard" school in Canada isn't a problem: just keep taking high school classes untill you get the right marks (we only submitted 6 credits when I applied!) - people who aim above their ability just flunk out...
16. Yeah... actually, 60 bucks, and some are 70 bucks.

Most of the schools I am applying to major in Economics. But for Georgetown, I am applying to their Business school, for Johns Hopkins, I am applying to their Biomedical Engineering Program, for Legigh, I am applying to their Integrated Business and Engineering Honors program (thats a 5 year major), and for Brown, I am applying to their new major in Commerce, Organizations and Entrepreneurship
17. Fact...

Where are you applying to? Are the rolling, or are they due on the 1st?
18. Furthermore, you are both a senior and a citizen. See if you can't score some discounts.
19. I am a dual citizen too, maybe an extra bonus?
20. Of Iran? You're lucky if you don't get your ass beat
21. In the US, being a citizen of Iran is a plus for college apps, and even if it was not, I don't care.
22. In the US, being a citizen of Iran means being assigned a CIA handler
23. I applied & got accepted already, so I don't have to deal with this BS no more. Thankfully.
24. Oh shit, that reminds me, I gotta get runnin
25. Where?
