    The 10.0L boss did beat the ZL1 in the 1/4 mile. Most of the people here are starting to make me despise chevys because of the things that they are saying about fords. I used to like chevys a little, but now, I HATE THEM.

    No!!!! Don't even mention Ford in the same sentence as the Vanquish. Just because Ford bought out Aston Martin, it doesn't mean that "Ford" builds the car or the engines. It's like saying that crappy Fiat builds Ferrari engines and the upcoming F60.<!-- Signature -->

    Ok first off ford's do not suck. About every car that's in my garage is a ford. I have never had any serious problem with any of em. And i am not going to sit here and bash chevy's or GM (even though i do lean more toward ford) i have never driven them (besides a saturn and an oldsmobile bravada which are nice cars). And the only problem we have ever had with a ford transmission is on my uncle's 68 shelby GT 500. It was leaking a little bit and that was it. I congradulate ford for basicly killing everything in it's path in the 60's and i congradulate GM now for making some of the fastest bang for the buck cars. All's i have to say is that wouldn't most of you rather have a ford or a GM than a japanese car that are most of the time ugly and take a hell of a lot of work to even compare to most american cars made. I mean c'mon would you rather pay 60,000 for either a Saleen mustang S281 extreme/Corvette Z06 or would you pay 90,000 (this is stock price with no extras) for an Acura NSX that doesn't look half as good as either of the cars and doesn't compare performance wise. I'm pretty sure i would go with 1 of the 2 american cars.

    Does he really have a GT500? Nice ass car man! However I like what I like,if I like a Japanese car and I want to buy one I will but if I like a Domestic car I'll buy it too. I dont' hate ford I hate Mustangs, they're my enemies in the pony wars and even though Ford thinks they won the war as far as sales goes, that was just a battle, the war is just getting good, cuz now the 03 Cobra can finally compete with an F-Body. The ZL-1 is the grandaddy of these cars, the Boss isn't, it broke down plus it didn't look anywhere near a regular street car with those huge ass drag tires!<!-- Signature -->

    Yeah he does have a 68 gt 500 (unrestored). He just sold a 70 gt 350 and my dad has a 67 gt 500. All's i have to say about the new cobra is i'm glad ford finally kicked themselves in the ass and put reasonable horsepower in it (390 to be exact).<!-- Signature -->

    Thunderbird250, you are smoking crack. If you lost to a 2001 GT, your SLOW! My girlfriend drives a 95 (i think) maxima, and beat a friend of mine's 2001 GT about ten times in a row, another friend of mine has a 2002 Altima, he dusted the shit out of several GT's the other day. Hell, I've beat a GT in my mom's Pontiac Bonneville (w/ a 3.8!)and my dad's GMC Sierra (w/ a 4.8). Most likely the people who pull up next to you aren't really racing you, idiot. I just sold the exact car you claim to have, and it was slow as hell in my opinion. Faster than alot of r$ce, but not that fast. My Chevelle would and did dust it, and I would guarantee that a WS6/SS or especially this ZL1 would annihilate it (I would know, have ridden in or owned all except the ZL1). I really hope your kidding, if you lost to a GT your just proving how slow you really are, trying to claim your fast... HAHAHA. Oh, and I had to replace the brakes several times in that ford, the entire ignition system, the transmission, A/C, headlights, etc etc all before 120,000 miles, yet every Chevy we've had in the driveway ran w/out any problems till atleast 150,000 miles or so. We had a 4.3 Astro that the cooling hose messed up on, and we drove it for about 15 minutes with the engine cooking at 1,000 degrees. Started and ran fine the next day and until the day we sold it with a new hose, oh and it had about 142,000 miles on it. I'd rather have domestic than import in most cases, but Fords just don't hold up like GMs in my experience (and dodge isn't even worth the discussion, in my experience).

    The main reson ford out sells GM is because every one and his brother bought a F150. Most you see on a construction site is a Ford truck.I will admit that, but most all of those trucks are 97 or newer. When you see a chevy on a site it is most likely to be a 88-98(older body style). When you buy a chevy you can plan to have it for at least 15 years. When you buy a Ford it brakes after about six years, so then you have to buy a new one. That agian is another reason Ford out sells GM.<!-- Signature -->

    Through my experiance, ford do suck (with the exception of the GT 40). Chevy is a much better car, but the Vector WX3 Avtech makes everything else obsolite.

    Ok first question 2001 Saleen why the hell you callin a ford a pos when u own one? Your car if you really own a 2001 saleen outperforms the Z06. Why are you talkin about a gd ford in a chev forum? Pointless this post is very pointless just had to say that.

    It rumbles with the throat of a thunderstorm on Main Street, and there's a roll cage and a racing driver's seat (which is connected to the factory six-way adjuster, by the way). If no one looks close, maybe they won't suspect that this car has been built by SLP as both a rolling testbed and showcase of the company's F-Car products. It can lift the front tires a foot off of the ground and cover a quarter-mile in 10 seconds. Even though it weighs 3,600 pounds with the driver aboard and the air conditioner still works, the stroked LS1 cranks out 550 big horses to move this basically stock Camaro impressively. During our photographer's drive time, he was able to induce wheel-spin at 45 miles an hour, and from a dead stop he invoked the phrase "fuhgeddaboudit" which describes any attempt to avoid a burnout. This is all with the shifter in "D." Of course, the "Loud Mouth" exhaust was a constant reminder of this 382ci LS1's potential and might have encouraged one or two "hard starts."
    SLP began with a box-stock '00 model year Z28 that ran 13.6 and, according to chief engineer Brian Reese, "started adding our own parts." Appearance components including the hood, rear spoiler, and graphics were first. Then they enlarged the stock 346ci LSI with a longer-stroke crankshaft, rods, and pistons. CNC-ported heads, a beefed up valvetrain, and an 85mm mass air meter (a reprogrammed Delphi unit originally intended for 6.0L LS1 truck engines), and this small-block churned out 500 hp and 490 lb-ft of torque. With the installation of SLP's prototype "Stage II" heads with 2.02/1.57 valves, enhanced porting, and a deeper resurfacing cut to raise compression to about 11.5:1, they added another 50 hp, resulting in approximately 550 hp. Great for a naturally aspirated small-block! Exhaust comes through tuned-length headers (about 33 inches), "off road" race pipes instead of cats, and "Loud Mouth" exhausts (essentially in-line expansion chambers instead of mufflers). The computer is reprogrammed, and the rearend has been switched out for an SLP/Moser prepped 12-bolt with 4.11:1 gears turning 10.5-inch DOT Mickey Thompson's. The factory 4L60E is still in place, although it's been beefed up and a higher-rpm stall converter has been fitted.
    Even though we may do without Camaros for a while, it's nice to know that there is some awesome potential in the ones we can still get our hands on.if you are selling a Camaro less than $250 in california area or welling to ship it .......e-mail me at pimpewick@cs.com(any year)

    Ford's did sux! but now their gonna use Euro Tech! Jaguar Chasis and Engines. just like the Licoln LS, first i thought WTF?? using Jaguar stuff, then i thought oh yeah jaguar whooped Ford's ass in performance! Jaguar is in F1, ford isn't, but ford is part of Jag so they r part of F1. Jag's r one hell of a class cars, its just that they desgined they cars too damn good and expensive ppl can';t afford a jag and the co. went bankrupt.

    Look at Nissan, their history they made great engines that could whoop honda in performance anyday, their problem was looks, eversince renault controlled the designs. they made a beauty called skyline.
