  2. Re: FWD, RWD, AWD! out of ten

got the right idea but til its got a turbo straight 6 or a V8 i cant gicve it much. 6/10
  3. Re: FWD, RWD, AWD! out of ten

guess its cool, prolly a 9/10, but does anyone know any benefits of FWD?
  4. Re: FWD, RWD, AWD! out of ten

More economic, I think, and more easily to get forwar on ice, compared to RWD.

This car have no drivetrain, or engine. It was only meant to show a possible future alfa romeo spider. The thing about this car is the innovative and very simple folding roof solution.

While most roof mechanisms power the roof down into the trunk, the roof of the Vola is simply rotated to rest on top of the decklid, in a concave surface. This solution reduces weight, and allows for more luggage space. The roof, supported by a carbon fiber frame, is made of variable transparent plastic to allow for protection from the sun and rear visibility.

In other words, this car will probably never be made drivable. Too bad on such a beauty.

in France, Italy, UK, Spain, etc... (let's say West Europe), most of cars are FWD !
I don't know any of the benefits over RWD, i think it may be a different handling if you push too far on the right pedal <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>

do you know anything about Alfa at all? the Brera is the closest to the new spider/GTV and its only going to go on sale in 2005

RWD is the best for performance and handling on track

FWD is the best for cars that have less than 220/230 hp - the most fuel economic and the best 2wd in snow/ice

4WD is better in winter than FWD but the torque and the hp distributed to the wheels is always the same and never changes

AWD is the best in winter and gives the best road handling - it gives the most torque and hp to the wheels that have the most adherence to the road - it changes continually
