Gallardo vs F430

1. or maybe the drag strip with Jason Heffner driving a the F430.

trust you magazines all you want. they are useless when the cars owners get are not making the same power and are not the same spec.

edit: so by the magazine numbers, is the F430 faster than a Z06 as well? lol.
2. "Now he will say that he doesn't care about magazine tests and that he'd rather trust the words from owners "

nice job predicting that I would say something I just said a few posts back.

I guess mafalda will now say any of the following:

-your friends might say the Countach is faster than a 599, does make it so
-I have facts/figures, you dont
-how come its only when ferrari gets good times people say its a ringer, but when others do, people say nothing.

etc etc.
3. Nima, dude, I think you should be quiet until you've found some evidence :p. Mafalda came up with good points.

I'm still very dubious of those times. I don't think they were rigged (which isn't a terribly clever reaction), but I'm trying to figure out why the F430 is coming up equal to the Superleggera when it really, really shouldn't be (like I said earlier, the SL's lighter and much more powerful). Maybe launch control has something to do with that, but I think the Gallardo has a form of LC too. Given that the Gallardo is awd, traction off the line shouldn't be a problem... And like I said before, I don't think the F1 gearbox is enough to make up the power/weight gap.

Anyone got any ideas?
4. Superleggera has more hp (40) and more torque than F430, but it still heavier(30-60 Kg it depends about equipments), and latest lambos have a VT traction very "strong", and it surely is a disadvantage when straight. Look at top speed (tested)
Old lambo VT
Diablo VT 492hp: 325 Kph
Diablo VT 530 Hp Roadster: 332 Kph

Latest Lambo VT
Murcielago 580Hp: 326-331 Kph
Murciélago LP640: 340 Kph
Gallardo 500Hp: 310 Kph
Gallardo SL: 315 Kph

You can see, Gallardo SL has 38 hp more Diablo VT, but it's 10 Kph slower. Slower... just on a looooooooong straight, of course! when cornering....
5. At top speed, maybe the Diablo has better aero than the shorter Gallardo. If not that then driveline losses could be higher in the Gallardo but that is less likely.

Thanks for the good stats.

7. mmmh... Lambo, abuot Diablo, declaired Cx 0.31, but real Cx was 0.34, as like as an F40, and it's quite obvious: similar Hp, similar Cx... similar top speed: about 325-326 Kph both!

About Diablo Vt Vs Gallardo 500hp, look at this (tests from Quattroruote):
Gallardo hp starts better,0-100 4.2s vs 4.76s, it's lighter and has e-gear ss the old, hard and slow 5 gears of Diablo, but @ 1 Km Gallardo has lost: 22.2s vs 21.96 of the old Diablo, and with less speed...
Diablo VT has a better acc. @ mid/high speed, despite the XXL tires 335....
8. What kind of pissing contest did this thread turn into?? haha
9. dude, magazine tests dont mean anything. according to magazine tests an F430 should be faster than a Z06. guess what, its not. its not even close.

the superleggera and the f430 weigh the same (the G SL MIGHT be 20 kg heavier) but has 40 more hp and 40 more ft-lbs and thats why it is faster.
10. I PREFER the Ferrari based on the facts:

Which I like better test (Type C, April 2008):
Lamborghini 9/10
Ferrari 9.5/10

11. these cars are almost (with all focus being on "almost") evenly matched. so close even, it just comes down to personal opinion. i, myself would prefer the ferrari, but thats only my opinion.

remember, this is a poll, not a competition. there are no awards. stop fighting.
12. Thanks so much,Enzo Ferrari Boy,it is a poll. My"personal" opinion is the Gallardo.
13. hey, thanks. i was just getting a headache thinking of all the shouting going on. i wanted it to be more friendly and guess wat? i guess it worked!

remember people, keep the words "personal" and "opinion" in mind.

Just trying to make the world a better place.

15. Don`t you think that the difference between our avatars and the resemblance of our behaviour is kind of strange, but whatever!Hooray for Ferrari and Lamborghini, both making some of the greatest SUPERCARS.

16. u forgot 1 word... it should go "...making some of the greatest supercars EVER!"
18. Just some further speculation.

The Diablo has a much higher torque than the Gallardo. Perhaps at higher speeds, the greater torque figure allows it to overcome aero drag better than the Gallardo. At lower speeds, when aero drag is not yet a big factor, the lower weight of the Gallardo allows it to get a jump on the Diablo.

Daiblo VT 6.0 - 620Nm at 5,500rpm
Gallardo SE - 510Nm @ 4,500rpm

19. I'd take the lp560/4 over an F430, but I'd be constantly worried about the next version coming out in a month.

if not thelp560/4, then the 430 no question, although I like the Audi interior mor than the 430 interior.
20. Wait a minute, buddy! We`re not asking Enzo and Ferruccio(the creator of Lambo) to hug-their companies will ALWAYS compete with each other-it`s just a forever rivalry.BUT that doesn`t stop supercar fans to love both a Ferrari and a Lambo.
21. And if that`s too much-unleast to admit and respect that the rival is a SUPERCAR.
22. Chill
23. based on looks, the 430, but on everything else, the new 560/4, what an awesome sound
24. 560 > 430
