  4. It's a shame that there are so few pictures of the Mirage without its top. I think it makes it SOOO much sexier. This is probably a stupid question, but does anyone know if the top can be stowed in the "trunk" of either the CGT or the MGT?
  5. On the normal CGT, yes. Don't know about the Mirage. It's stupid hood might dip down too far.
  6. yuma, you forgot about the US or Canada, we can have vanity plates with BB :p
  7. Never seen a US/CAN car with a Europlate...
  8. The two parts of the CGT roof can be stored under the front hood. Though I wouldn't call it trunk.

As for the MGT, it seems as it is not possible due to the aerodynamical changes in the front hood...
Furthermore I doubt that the front part of the airbox would fit in there!
  9. Thanks for your feedback, guys. That's what I assumed.

9ff, as you know, has built a twin-turbo CGT boasting 900+ hp which debuted at Essen last week. We don't know much about the project or its likelihood of resulting in a reliable/usable modification for the car, but it certainly got my gears turning.

Edo has, for a while offered several naturally aspirated upgrades for the CGT, including one that boosts hp to a claimed 770 (or nearly...I'm not certain of the exact figure).

However, I've followed the lifespan of the Mirage GT from its germination as an artist's rendering with rumors of 1000+hp, through that first, pearl white example featured in EXCELLENCE, through the tragic news of the first dumbass to crash one of these beauties. My point is, I think the possibility of MGT-TT, even if 9ff does the engine, is beyond enticing. It was Uwe's original conception, was it not? And I'm going to assume that most of the posters on this forum love the Mirage and don't see it as sacrilege to modify the Carrera GT, especially if those modifications iron out the few visual shortcomings of the original design. Why not have the best of both worlds if 9ff pulls it off in the engine department?

It's beyond excessive (as if the MGT weren't), but no one can tell me that the 9ff GTT-whatever concept is a proper home for such an engine. 'Atrocious' doesn't even do it justice as a design.

Thanks for hearing my thoughts... if you're still reading, and feel free to let me know what you think about the possibility of an hybrid Mirage GT / 9ff TT engined beast- even if it's beyond doubtful that something like this would EVER be built.

  10. As long as Uwe Gemballa owns the Gemballa factory there won't be any "hybrid" tuning with any other Porsche tuner around and that's an end of it!

You might get some more infos and pics of the 9ff car soon, we will see.
Only infos so far: car existed before Essen Motorshow and is a customer car from Qatar.
  11. Of course not. I'm talking about the possibility of a Mirage owner going to 9ff for a twin turbo upgrade. And I do mean FOOD FOR THOUGHT in the strictest sense
  12. Pics of the Mirage #012 spotted anywhere in the UAE:
  13. I hope Gemballa will do engine upgrades now that 9ff is doing this... finally.
I find it remarkable that none of the clients has reqeusted htis yet. I know I would.
  14. Some clients did <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>
  15. really? thats good to hear <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
What kind of mods are we talking about here?
  16. They did, but Gemballa didn't make it <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>
  17. aargh, weak <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>
Gemballa needs to do things more like back in the day..
  18. #180

  19. What do you mean with "#180"?
  20. car #180 modified and released by Gemballa
  21. I think he wanted to write 980. That's how it's written on the Gemballa homepage.
  22. Mirage GT from eBay is in the Gemballa showroom in Leinberg! The flar-black isn't any longer there (maybe it's sold).
  23. Mirage GT #015 / CGT #0711 for sale at Exotic Motorcars Boynton Beach, Florida
  24. Hi,

already told you it would be number 15 but thanks for the pics!
