GM & Ford developing 9- &10-speed transmissions

    CVT can't be that bad seeing Williams F1 ones planed to use it in F1,

  8. A few of my friends built a belt-less CVT, including a zero-drive ratio, based on sprag clutches. I thought it was pretty slick. Don't know how useful it is, though.
     
  9. In before they build 4 speed automatics to save weight.

  10. Ridiculous.

    For small wrong wheel drive (front wheel drive) cars a CVT would be better and cheaper.
