Electrical assist power steering has been in use since the 1980s, GM started testing with it in 1988. You would think in 22 years, something as simple as electronic power steering would be pretty problem free or maybe we should just go back to gear boxes and manual steering on everything.
toytota just had the same problem as these cobalts with the prius. also, the thing i've liked about *most* car companies in the past few decades is they tend to come out with recalls without being forced into it, even if it makes them look bad. toyota is the only major car company in recent history that i can remember that waited until the government forced them to recall all of their cars before they actually started doing it.
Uhh, wasn't the Prius' issue a software problem with the braking system? Not at all related to a hardware issue in the steering, like these Cobalts...
it was more than that. Also remembed there were numerous other issues with the new shitty civic. It was probably one of Hondas most problematic cars ever.
I don't know... I know that they're shit but, I'm visiting Uruguay and now this palce is filled with chinesse cars, and some of them are cute... LOL
The 2001-2005 generation Civics are, by far, the worst generation ever. There's so many problems with them, it ain't funny.
Yeah, mine has only done me wrong once though, so I can't complain. Little shit wouldn't start the last time we got a heavy snow. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/angry.gif"></A>
I don't really get why the Civic garners so much hate. The Toyota Corolla is easily a more detestable thing. Yes, there is the F&F crowd, but that's not nearly as prevalent as it used to be. Ok, it's not as thrilling as a Mazda 3, Subaru Impreza, or VW Golf - but it's easily better than the shitboxes everyone else is peddling in that segment, save perhaps the Ford Focus and the foremention trio.
Have you people even driven the new civic? Its a fun car to drive. No joke. The steering is very sharp, the throttle is extremely responsive, and the suspension is pretty damn sporty for an econobox.
