  10. Re: great car for the money!

    its not that expensive
used i would say 15-25g canadian$, depending on mileage.

but the insurance on it is higher than on a camaro or a trans am of same year (and higher bhp) so i would get a trans am or a camaro z28

    thats just my opinion though

  11. Re: great car for the money!

As far as tranny problems - well, not really any PROBLEMS, they just kinda suck all the way around. low quality is the way i would put it.

price? you can get a 91 or 92 for about 3 grand american. they run 15 flat stock, and for another 5 grand they can make mid 12's.

you wanna make porsches cry? you can do it with about $20k.

  12. Re: great car for the money!

they are great tuner cars, and the insuranse is actually lower than a camaro. at least it was for me, i checked it out. Turbo AWD is always the best. tranny is good

    really?
at my company (at which i am insured now) the insurance for this car is higher than for a 1997 camaro z28

weird, maybe i should do an online auto quote that checks quotes from several insurance companies in the same time.

Love the car except for the bulge in the hood. Great tuner, 3 people at the university that I go to have one and they just kill every single souped-up Honda. Of course, my friend's Swift GSI slaughters all of them hehe 342 HP in a 688Kg car MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA }:)<!-- Signature -->

Thugz, That bulge in the hood is there for a reason. Since the car has DOHC, that is where the cams are, and the hood has to be raised there for it to fit properly, or else the hood couldnt close. If you look on a little 1.8 liter version you'll notice the bulge isnt there, cause that engines not a DOHC.

  18. Re: great car for the money!

I test drove on of these today. It was a 95 with a K & N air filter.
I was quite suprised on how quick the car was. You get the needle past
3000 rpm and it pushes you in your seat. The tranny isn't that smooth.
But you can put some better tranny fluid in there to help smooth it out. The bump I think is so the timing belt cover can fit under the hood. I haven't driven the first generation of this car yet, the performance isn't that much slower. The car handled very good.

I want to get me one.

  19. Re: great car for the money!

Who thinks this car sux? I'll tell ya who, ME. I know someone who has one and it breaks down on him all the time. It's a waste on metal.-and rubber

These are Exceptionally nice cars, it's a Mitsubishi Eclipse (As if you didn't know) Actually these TSI model cars were once the most sought after car for racing because of there incetible handeling<!-- Signature -->

Huh? They could've just dropped the engine further down... or redesigned the hood. My car has a 24 Valve DOHC and there's no ugly bump on the hood...<!-- Signature -->
