as much as I LOVE the GTO, I would take the impala. They have a bit more tourque and speed and make awsome lowriders. Plus I would take an impala cause I already got a '66 GTO...

You're comparing a coupe to a sedan based on the same platform. I bet you it's gonna be almost the same car, with the Impala SS having 2 more doors. It really depends on whether or not you gotta drive people around a lot. For that, the Impala would be better, but I'd take a GTO cuz I have no real need for a sedan.<!-- Signature -->

First, the Impala SS has the LT1 engine, releasing MAYBE 290 BHP. The LS1 STOCK gives around 315 bhp. The weight difference alone would give the GTO a 1st place finish, not to mention increased horsepower and torque.

Seeing that I have a black fully loaded& lowered 2002 Impala, I would have to say I would take the impala. Its a nice ride.

Cool, but your Impala is still no match for the upcoming Holden-based Impala SS. And we're not comparing the regular Impala to the GTO anywayz, since the engines and drivetrains are different.<!-- Signature -->
