Have you seen the Photon?

Discussion in '2005 Mosler MT900 S' started by 1940 815, Mar 22, 2003.

  1. the mosler MT900 Photon is capable of speeds well over 150 mph, the company claims it can go 200, and personally i believe them. This car is a monster. i will get more stats and maybe some pics of the Photon when i can, tell me if you have seen it.

Watch for the June issue of Motor Trend, they did a test of the Mosler MT900S 'Photon', and some other supercars.

  3. Re: Have you seen the Photon?

i read that one the mosler only went 165 all the downforce slowed it down the mosler beat the rest at everything exept the top speed and the 60 to 0 the viper beat it at that one

  4. Re: Have you seen the Photon?

Yep, 165mph, but the Hoosier tires have a small diameter. A tire, and/or gear change could boost the top end, but for street use, I prefer the quickness that the Photon has as it is, since that can be used.

  5. Re: Have you seen the Photon?

    Yes I have. 0-60=3.13 seconds.

  6. Re: Have you seen the Photon?

In my opinion, I'd have to say, the Photon is one of the best supercars, hands down. And that car BETTER exceed or go at least 200 mph.

  7. Re: Have you seen the Photon?

if your talking about the motor trend test, i beg to differ. although the tranny failed and it DNF, the Lingenfelter sonoma owned the quarter mile. but other than that, awesome car, and tell me, this IS supposed to be a 'vette' right?

You're thinking of the Car And Driver "Supertuner Shootout". The MotorTrend "Speeding" article is what is being refered to above.

Photon is bad. All carbon fiber sick road race car. My personal favorite. BE READY 2004 PRODUCTION STARTS!!!!!! Start saving your pennies.

  10. Re: Have you seen the Photon?

It's called the MT900 Photon. The MT900S is the street legal one.The S stands for street.

  11. Re: Have you seen the Photon?

Around the shop we usually refer to the Photon, as "the Photon" since there is only one, and differentiate street cars from race cars as an "S" or an "R".

  12. Re: Have you seen the Photon?

Exactly. You are right, why not just call it the Photon?

  13. Re: Have you seen the Photon?

I don't, because technically its an MT900S, with the 'Photon' upgrade (thin wall subframes, titanium springs, Hewland gearbox, etc.). In my eyes, it begins life as an MT900S, and then becomes an MT900S Photon, much like a Corvette gets upgraded to a Corvette Z06. And, like the Corvette, most just refer to it as a Z06

  14. Re: Have you seen the Photon?

Yes it does start as an MT900S, but becomes an MT900 Photon. You have to drop the S when you add Photon or it's A street version and the Photon isn't street legal, however the MT900S is.

Hehe...I guess I'll just have to ask Warren Mosler next time I see him, and settle this

Your missing a couple of important cars in your list:

    Koenigsegg c8
    Dauer LeMans
    Porsche Gt1

the aerodynamics can be altered for downforce or top speed. The car slalomed at 74MPH damn.
