    Hillary Clinton joins 2008 race

Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton has declared her intention to run for president in the 2008 US elections.
Ms Clinton, 59, wife of former president Bill Clinton, announced her move on her website, saying "I'm in".

The former First Lady has set up a presidential exploratory committee, testing the waters for a full bid.

Her announcement comes days after African-American Democratic Senator Barack Obama said he had formed an exploratory committee.

Ms Clinton would become the first First Lady to seek presidential office, while Mr Obama's entry into the race would raise the possibility of the US having its first black president.

Mr Obama is one of the Democratic Party's rising stars, having electrified the 2004 Democratic convention with a powerful speech.

Ms Clinton is currently serving as a senator for New York.

Correspondents say that her unbeatable name recognition and unmatched fundraising ability make her a clear front-runner for the Democrats.

Yet she is also seen as a divisive figure. Some estimates say one in three Americans would never vote for her.

Ms Clinton's decision in 2002 to vote in favour of military action against Iraq angered many Democrat supporters but she has since become a vocal critic of President George W Bush handling of the conflict.
  2. Congrats? She's heinous. Fortunately she doesn't have a glimpse of a chance of actually winning.
  3. I was sarcastic. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
  4. That's a relief. I'm not really familiar with your politics. I just assumed it was serious as there are people out there, believe it or not, that wouldn't be sarcastic in that statement (Stewacide comes to mind).

I don't think it's a bad thing that a woman is running for president. I just wish it wasn't a wishy-washy, everything by the polls she-devil.
  5. Hilary is hotter than her daughter.
  6. My mother would go crazy if she wins..though we're Dutch. My mom is a bit into feminism I guess<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>
  7. Some combo of hilary and obama is gonna run with this thing.
  8. kill her!
  9. Robert F Kennedy style..dude, she has no chance in hell of winning.

    Obama in '08!!
  10. We could do worse then Hilary, but I doubt she'll actually win anyway.
  11. Only if the Democratic party wants to throw away ANOTHER 4 years with fringe candidates.

Obama is the Donovan McNabb of politics. Overrated because a small group want to see a black president succeed.

Pandering to minority groups isn't going to get you the majority of votes.
  12. Ya they're the front runners, so I don't doubt that at least 1 if not both of them end up on the P/VP ticket in the end. Still, American's don't trust women leaders, and don't trust black men, especially not one with a name that rhymes with Osama.
  13. If hillary some how wins, lets hope bill sets her straight on a few issues.
  14. BJ again?
  15. they'll be a factor, but i have absolute faith a woman or a black person who are competent enough could feasibly be elected in the short term.

however, hillary is an awful candidate for a dozen reasons independent of her gender, and obama is an unproven, inexperienced candidate independent of his race.

if it goes that way, i dont really know what the democrats are thinking, other than they really dont know how to profit from an opponent's blunder.
  16. #$%# leftist trash and clinton
  17. Shut up.
  18. Shutup, not everyone shares your Piece of shit opinion.

    *Insert backfire here*
  19. To be honest, I generally see what you mean with the McNabb reference.

However, personally, I have no interest in electing Obama because he's a minority, I actually like his politics and like him in general, regardless of him being black.
  20. Is Hilary Clinton an anal sex addict?
  21. I can't think of a worse leader for our country.

Heck, I'm sure one of you guys could do a better job than her.
  22. Pat Robertson.
  23. Exactly. Colin Powell is a military hero and years of experience. That's a black candidate that people would vote for.
  24. i dont think she will win...
  25. Truth, and nothing but the truth.
