Holden HSV Coupe 4

  1. The auto is fine actually...and spending a few dollars to get the car tuned (auto included), you will find the manuals don't hold a candle to the auto...that goes for ANY model.

You have no idea in comparing a model based off a VY, with the latest model VZ.

And saying you wouldnt get it because its the first AWD and will have problems...using that logic you wouldnt buy a VZ HSV because its the first LS2's and they 'will have problems'.

  2. Maybe you should drive an auto Holden and see how NOT rough and clunky they are before you make comments.

  3. maybe you should drive an european auto, the coupe 4 is expensive enough to compare.

  4. There are only two reasons to buy a Coupe 4
    1. You live somewhere it snows alot.
    2. Your a wanker.
    end of story.

  5. I invite you to find a european AWD V8 coupe that costs 90K to compare it with.

  6. yea nice trick question.

Mercedes has been using 5 speed autos in their older models such as their A160 through to their ML55 AMG, and even in the S600L.

Holden have a 5 speed auto for the 6 cylinder Caprice, Wheels say the auto 5 is "superb". however Wheels critisize the Coupes "clunky" auto.

hopefully they find a way to reliably mate the new 5 speed to the coupe.

  7. You shouldn't have to spend money to tune a car that you have spent nearly $100k on. Doind so will also void the warranty which you don't want to happen. If you want a good auto, buy the VZ. You won't have to worry about aftermarket crap.

That is my point. Why would you buy what is essentially a Vy Gto with less power, more weight and AWD when you can get a VZ with all the new features. Obviously Hsv have used the Coupe 4 as a 'test' model. They have built it to see the publics reaction and how well Hsv's will work with AWD. That's why they haven't used the Vz updates on it. In the future most Hsv models will probebly have AWD, the Coupe 4 is the devolopment car.

I wouldn't be surprised if the LS2 has problems like the Gen III did when it came out.

  8. Well we arent gonna get anywhere because all were going to do is disagree.

Yes I think they were recorded on a gravel track, but don't HSV claim that the Coupe 4's times on gravel are within .2 of a second of those on tarmac?

  9. only cheap wine comes in 5 Litres

  10. Theres no tricks about it...very straightforward.

  11. You don't have to spend the money if you dont want to, but the options are there for those who do want to. ANY $100K+ car will have tuning capabilities in its stock form.

There are many Holden dealers who don't have problems with people tuning their cars, believe it or not there are ls1.com forum members with mildly tuned cars that have had warranty work done on their cars.

I wouldnt be surprised either if the LS2 has problems...every brand new design from both Holden and Ford in the last 20 or so years have had minor problems that get fixed up for the next model.

  12. ok well lets consider that the coupe 4 will be sold in the UK, it will be more expensive and its competitors will be cheaper. can you say S60 R?

  13. The S60R is not a V8 coupe though.
Plus the S60R costs more than the Coupe4 here.

  14. Thats good but most of us in this thread don't live in the UK so its not really relevant <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>

  15. lucky us <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/pitlane/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>

  16. Have you ever been to the UK? Miserable weather, fuel costs a few bucks a litre, their traffic makes sydneys look good, pissy roads and cars, everything costs shitloads, average people spend a fortune to live in motel sized apartments.

  17. no. id like to go there, but would much rather live in aus (for the reasons you stated).

  18. What would you rather drink. Milk or Wine?

  19. Real men drink beer and milk.

    Pansy.

  20. The Auto is a giant pile of steaming shit. They are terrible to use. It's loud, clunky and can never make up it's mind.

  21. next time, try mild editing before spewing up journalist's opinions.
Its a new drivetrain (ie. the mateship with Crosstrack and the Gen3), if you knew better, they tend to get better with age, and chances are, they will replace it with a manual or the five speed, when they put an Alloytec in the car.

  22. No. I was actually speaking from experience, who would have thought that quite a few people might have the same opinion?

  23. Guys who drink beer , only do so because it's cheaper than other alcahol. I suppose you would be one of those guys.

  24. Yes peoples tastes are dictated entirely by the price of the liquid they drink.

  25. Guys drink beer simple as that.
    Chicks drink wine.
You, do not drink any alcohol.
