I'll bet you never even raced a V-Tec...

  2. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

Yeah i do all the time. Haven't lost yet. I race guys with v-tec superchargers and nitrous. The closes racest i get are from mustangs and f-bodies. Hey if i wanna race a good v-tec i will go race a hoda odyssey, its more hp than anything else they sell. lol. Ohh and that three horsepower you got from your coffie can muffler is worthless because the muffler weighs like 20 pounds.I bet you never raced a real musclecar.

  3. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

First of all, I wasn't talking to you.

Second of all, the maximum power is irrelevant, it's how much power the car has for its weight, and how well it delivers that power.

So, you mean to tell me you've raced stock Mustang GT's (0-100 in 5.6-5.8, and 1/4 in 14.3) and had a close race, while you raced an S2000 (0-100 in 5.4, 1/4 in 14.1) and blew it away?......uh huh, you keep on making up stories buddy, and I'll keep laughing at how pathetic you are.

btw: just because you're racing a Civic, doesn't mean it has a V-tec engine, and try racing some adequately modified Hondas, not just ryced out ones. And I sincerely doubt that the Honda Odyssey has more than the 290hp that the NSX does (which has a V-tec engine dumbass).

Um, unlike you probably do with whatever you drive, I DON'T ryce out my Civic. Though I do have widened pipes (after the Cat, so as not to reduce backpressure), and a stainless steel muffler that's NOT one of those huge ass mufflers that eliminate all backpressure, but is lighter than the stock muffler, and increased high end power by approximately 10%, so you can figure on approximately 10-15hp at 5000rpm. And the Reason I installed that stainless steel muffler was because I was sick of replacing POS Dynomax aluminized steel mufflers, even though it had a lifetime warranty on it, I was sick of replacing it just because it couldn't withstand the rigours of rally racing.

Oh, and guess what, I've raced a number of musclecars, listed below:

    1) 1976 Camaro (which ended up off the road when he tried to pass me after a LONG straight stretch, this was on our local skihill road, which is unpaved, but had hardpacked snow at the time)

    2) 1993 Mustang GT which was ahead of me on the highway by a fair distance, but then got passed by me once we reached the same ski hill road, I didn't see him again until he got up to the ski hill, he was pretty shocked that a stock "ryce burner" could beat his modified Stang.

    3) 1987 Camaro, in the abandoned snowy streets of my hometown late at night, after the fourth Corner, I didn't see him again until I reached the "finish", and waited about 2 minutes for him.

    4) 1994 Mustang GT, in a regional TSD rally, even after dropping out on the second to last stage of the rally (because my co-driver got sick, and couldn't focus on his calculations, and I didn't want to make him any more miserable than he already was), we still ended up in 23, while the Mustang driver finished 37th.

    5) 2001 Mustang GT, straightline acceleration, I was about 40m ahead of him by the end of the race (which was from a stoplight, to where a powerline crosses the road, approx. 1.3km), it happened to be my family doctor driving (I live in a small town), and I think the turnout had more to do with his granny shifting vs. my ability to shift and accelerate quickly.

There, in all those cases (and yes there have been a few times when I raced a musclecar and lost, however since I'm not stupid enough to race someone in a muscle car in a straightline - except for when I feel like having a little retarded fun, it's only happened a couple times) it was with someone I knew, it was all in good fun, and we had agreed on racing ahead of time. Except for #4 - in which we just happened to be entered into the same race.

Don't be yet another ignorant Domestic rycer who goes around bashing manufacturers just because they're frome one factory.

  4. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

Good stories, but i think most of us here race in a straight line, also known as the highway. I that case im not talking about rally. Ohh and those cars were not stock, any fool that thinks a stock car at any level will win on the street should go back home.

  5. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

Ok, 1st, I did post one example of a straight line, and I won in my STOCK Civic with a 1.6 litre non V-tec engine.

2nd, straight lines are for pussies who can't drive, real driving requires acceleration, and handling.

3rd, two of those examples were on the highway, and it at no point (except for one) did that highway have more than a 450m (1/4 mi) straight stretch. So just because the highways where you live are flat and straight, doesn't mean all are (in fact most in the world aren't).

4th, only ONE of those examples was in a rally race.

Sure those cars were not stock, but given by your ignorant point of view, they were probably ryced out and not well modified.

Try racing a 1990 Civic with a K20 under the hood and AWD and see if you can even come close to keeping up at ANY point. And I mean in your pathetic straight lines.

  6. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

Uhh what is a k20? and i really am serious i dont know. All wheel drive is over rated. Look at dragsters they are rear wheel drive. The reason all wheel drive is not that good is this. Yeah all the tires bite when you drop it, that means that with out spinning the tires and squeeching them this will actuall bog the engine. The engine is spinning faster than the tires so it has to slow back down so the tires can catch up. Like the evo 8. It runs a 13.9 second 1/4 mile on the hard pavement. It runs a 13.4 on gravel, because it can let its tires spin, and the engine does not bog. Im not to afraid of all wheel drive.

  7. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

actually yes i have. once in my dart and once in the truck. in the dart i raced a prelude with a vtec and in the truck i raced an accord with a v tec. both guys were my friends and i beat both of them. my dart smoked the prelude and the truck just barely beat the accord but i still beat it.

  8. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

The K20 is the abbreviated version of the engine code for the engine in the S2000 (you know, the 2.0 litre engine that performs like a racing car engine for lower end classes of racing), it produces 250hp, and with a few modifications to the stock internals can produce up to 300hp at 12000 rpm, you really just need to raise the safe rpm that the engine can run up to.

AWD is not the best option for 3000+hp drag cars, however, with AWD in terms of acceleration, the power is not reduced in any way, it actually just balances the power so that all wheels can accelerate evenly. So no, the engine is not "spinning faster than the tires". The biggest advantage to AWD for racing isn't that it holds traction better than RWD or FWD drivetrains, it's that with AWD the car is much more controllable at high speeds - with or without traction.

And for the EVO VI the 1/4 on pavement is 12.9, and on gravel it's 13.2.

I just brought up the AWD along with the K20 because those are the eventual major mods I have planned for my Civic Si, along with a good Turbo and Nitrous and a few other related mods to handle that kind of power, I should be able to easily achieve 350hp most of the time, and use the Nitrous on the straights for an additional 50hp. The purpose for all this is so that I can race with the car in SCCA Open class, and walk all over a few 500+ hp Hyundai Tiburons, it would just be so cool to dominate rallying with such an "obsolete" 15 yr old small 3-door passenger car.

  9. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

BTW - it's the K20A to which I refer, not the K20B or C, which can be found in cars with slightly less power.

  10. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

BTW - it's the K20A to which I refer, not to be confused with the K20B or C, which can be found in cars (such as the Civic Type-R) with slightly less power.

  11. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

I4s dont push their limits. They just have higher limit than V8s. For example, an S2000 has a redline of, like, 9000 RPM, I think. Is that right?

  12. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

    Yes that's correct.

and he's wrong btw, America did NOT invent the car.

  13. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

BTW - the mods are for Rally racing, i.e. off-road, so AWD would be ideal.

Particularly since I'll be pushing roughly 350hp to the wheels with a 1400kg car, I'd be spinning the tires forever if I didn't switch the car to AWD.

  14. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

    "HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES"

Yeah, I killed a Mustang in my Honda Civic.

    also a 1979 Camaro.

and a few other "American Muscle" cars.

Wow, I feel proud, I beat a few rednecks who couldn't drive.

Egads, the stupidity of the people in these forums......THE CIVIC WAS NEVER INTENDED BY HONDA FOR STRAIGHTLINE ACCELERATION, only to be reasonably quick in acceleration, and much quicker than bloated American Muscle on true backroads.

  15. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

How much money youv'e spent on modifiying your car?

  16. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

a grand total of $500 (cdn), with the mods being - skidplates, stiffer (off-road) suspension, K&N air filter, and a stainless steel exhaust system to handle the rigours of off-road racing (widened to 2" from the catalytic converter back).

But as far as mods related to acceleration - $0

How much have you spent on your GMC made/GMC owned, Holden?

  17. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

The guy with the cobra I agree with you. As for my story. I have one of the most over looked cars out there right now, a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. I was outside of a movie theater with my friends they all have imports. This '99 Civic Si rolls up and gets outta his car. I tell him nice car, being serious. He says yeah, thanks. So, I ask what do you have done. He says enough. I'm like ok this guys an ass. He goes inside the movie theater gets his tickets to his movie nad leaves reving his engine at me. So, my friends and I continue to just hang out and talk. The Si comes back. with another buddy of his, in an accord. They park next to us, walk over and say "Hey, is that your Pontiac." Bein' a smart ass I tell him "I'm standin' next to it." He's like ok well I eat Pontiacs for breakfast I just say "Ok ok, do you wanna race?" "Lets do this." he says. so we go to the frontage road of the nearest highway and he's looking at me like he's the coolest thing since sliced bread. So the arms drop we take off. He has an advantage on me, cus I have an automatic. His RPMs are screamin. I just casualy give it the gas and pull away with a good 1 1/2 car lengths then his V-Tech kicks in and he narrows it down to 1/2 a car length, then I punch it, and then it's good-bye civic. after the race he told me i was lucky and wanted to run again and blah blah blah, excuses.

  18. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

I think we know who's the real ass in this case.

Nice story, would be better if it were true.

  19. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

You don't believe me huh. You don't think my pontiac beat the guy or what? Either way that's your opinion, and you can believe me or not. I could care less.

  20. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

Seeing as i am not over the legal age to drive i don't have a car. But my old man's HSv Gto is completely stock.

  21. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

Nobody's that much of an ass, so I get the impression that you're making the entire story up. Especially since I sincerely doubt that someone is going to go through such an ordeal just so that you'll have an extremely biased story to tell.

BTW - unless he was a horrible driver, there's no way you'd be much (if at all) faster in a stock Grand Prix than a modified Civic Si. Hell, my EF Chassis Civic Si (stock) is considerably faster than my buddy's Grand Prix of the same year, and his Grand Prix is modified for performance, while my Civic is only modified for durability off-road.

  22. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

Yes he was an ass like that, who said my car was stock, and his civic was not stock either. What he had done I have no idea, and yes there are ppl out there that will say stuff like that.

  23. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

i almost hit a semi-truck with my race civic with 1000 shot of NOS and i was doing 500MPH but then i drove under the trailer and my nos tank got scratched but thats ok. then i beat a Geo Metro, a Chrysler Town and Country and a Schoolbus with lots of kids in it. at the 1/4 mile i run 3 seconds flat at 497MPH but my parachute rips everytime i slow down thats why i have 5. so dont try to race my civic with your ferrari because i'll beat you really badly.

  24. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

Dude, you're an idiot. Please stop cluttering up our forums.

  25. Re: HONDA CIVIC KILL STORIES

Well, you can't claim a car is fast, and then ONLY use a modified one as an example, any car can be made fast. That's why I thought your car was stock.

Well then, rycers like him are exactly the type of import driver I hate, as they give a bad name to those who know the cars for what they truly are, and have legitimate reasons for racing with them.
