I agree exactly with your numbers. I would say 4.1 seconds, QUICK!

  2. Re: How fast do you think it is from 0-60?

I reckon it is probably around 3.5seconds like you said,i mean it is alot lighter than the standard m3 and it has a v8 so ithink that this is a good time for the car as you look at what it has and you think WWWOOOOWWW,And then you think to yourself and you say it can only be a BMW!!!!!(AS U CAN SEE I LOVE BMW'S).

  3. I think it would be pretty accurate to say that the BMW M3 GTR Stassenversion at 450bhp/1350kg (power-to-weight the same as the Ferrari 360 Stradale) would nail 4 seconds flat under the right conditions and with a good driver. It's probably even capable of achieving under 4 seconds. A good way to compare is to check the power-to-weight ratios of various vehicles that are achieving similar 0-62mph times.

Compair the following stats: (and check out stats for 911 GT2, 911 Turbo, Dodge Viper GTS etc)

    2003 Porsche 911 GT3
    381bhp/1380kg (appx 3045 lbs)
    power-to-weight = 3.62 kg/horsepower
    0-62mph around 4.2 to 4.4 seconds

    2003 Ferrari 360 Challenge
    425bhp/1280kg (appx 2822 lbs)
    power-to-weight = 3.0 kg/horsepower
0-62mph should be around 4 seconds flat

    2002 BWM M3 GTR Strassenversion
    450bhp/1350kg
    power-to-weight = 3.0 kg/horsepower
0-62mhp should be flat 4's or lower

  9. Probably not THAT much quicker than the normal M3

    Maybe .5 seconds quicker

  10. If that, Paul.

I think people get carried away with rare cars and tend to exaggerate their performance figures.

That's not to say that the M3 GTR Strassenversion isn't a quick car but with 375bhp (only 20 more than the M3 CSL which does it in 4.8 seconds) can we really expect 0-60 times of 4 secs or lower? Very doubtful.

I tested an M3 GTR in Gran Turismo 4 and yes, while it is a game it is supposed to resemble the performance of real cars to quite a good degree. I managed a 0-1000 time of 23.571, about 200's of a second quicker than the CSL and almost a second quicker than the standard M3.

I think 0-60 closer to about 4.5/4.6. Top speed was touching 180.

  12. if the CSL does it in 4.6 seconds and this one is 35kgs lighter and 90hp more powerful id say 0-60 in about 4s
