hunting question

  1. why is hunting with a gun considered a sport? and why is a hunter considered a 'sportsman?' to me, hunting is a sport like chess is a sport, although to hunt you don't need half the brain you need for chess. somehow to me, a hunter never looked like an athelete. same goes for fishing.

  2. If they call ballroom dancing a sport, they can call hunting and fishing a sport.

  3. Its not, just like golf isn't a sport.

  4. It an "activity"...

  5. You can succeed or fail to reach your goal

You need skill and some amount of physical and mental ability

Practice and dedication will lead to improvement

There is a competitive element to it

Pretty close to a sport ...

  6. Its not really a sport in my eyes unless a couple people try to see who can shoot the most birds or something.

  7. Big game hunting is more of a sport than other types, where you have to hike for miles to even see your target.
