1. Is it just me, or do every single Hummer veichles look like a giant box that has wheels under it, i cant stand the look, why dont they ever change it? this car's looks are old and UGLY

2. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

No I dont think it looks like a box on wheels

3. Re:
i cant stand a BOX on wheels

this is one of, if not the best, off road PRODUCTION vehicles.

4. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

THEN GO ELSWHERE!!!

5. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

this is a car website where you post your opinion, and that is what im doing, if you cant respect that then you leave

6. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

I agree. It was designed using straight lines and not curves like every other newly designed car on the planet. (exagerated)

7. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

old Volvo's were boxes on wheels too! I think the design is more rugged than anything on the Hummer, and it's ruggedness is what has made it so popular, boxy design or not...and you gotta love the low-end torque this thing must haul serious ass offroad..would love to mud in this badboy!! would be hella fun!!!

8. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

Notice "newly designed" in my post. All the old cars were based on boxes but Hummer seems to be the only car manufacture that hasn't unveiled the miricle that the circle is in modern times.

9. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

This legend isn't made to look pretty with some little curves here and there, it's made to do what it does best. If you don't like the look, tough cookie. I would rather have a vehicle to do what it is made to instead of having one that looks pretty but doesn't do as expected of it...

10. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

It doesn't have to look like a box in order to be a good off roader, either and that hasn,t gotten throught the thick skulls of Hummer's designers.

11. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

Actually it sort of does. You need straight body panels so that you know that wherever the bumper fits, the whole car will also. The vertical windshield allows for better visibility. Look at all the good offroaders. The Mercedes Benz G500. The Land Rover. The Jeep Wrangler. The Hummer. All those have straight edges, so you must think they look like a box. When building a good offroader, form follows function. You build the thing to be the best, and whatever it looks like at the end, that is the look of greatness.

12. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

The new Bigfoots aren't boxy and it is the ultimate off-roader. They can stop all the vehicles listed and the wrangler sucks off-roading without being upgraded.

13. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

Aren't Bigfoots ATV's?

How's this: You and me will race offroading for 400 miles. I'll be in a Hummer, and you'll have a Bigfoot. I'll be in my nice cool cabin, and you'll be sweating buckets on your big bad Bigfoot. I'll be listening to the radio, and you'll be sweating buckets. I might even recline my seat so I can be more comfortable, and you'll still be sweating buckets. And on top of all that, I will actually make it to the finish line, whereas you will have run out of gas.

14. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

Bigfoot is the original monster truck with tires the equivilant of what they put on tractors but wider.

How's this: I'll stomp on the gas when the christmas tree turns green and swerve in your direction crushing you and your precious Hummer; therefore making finshing the race pointless.

15. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

Bigfoot is the original monster truck built by Bob Chandler. The new ones are built with F-250 bodies which are curvy with a mean and manly touch.

How's this I'll have the latest revision of Bob Chandler's creation and you'll have your precious hummer. I'll have the air blowing through the open windows to keep cool, the sound of that raw power coming from the engine as my radio, and an extra fuel tank strapped on to the back. When the race starts, about a quarter mile down the track, you slow down from a less than friendly slope downwards and I don't see you in the dust you kicked up. So, I run over you with 10,000 pounds of steel and I don't even know it. That weight causes all your tires to burst and crushing the cabin of your beloved Hummer making it impossible for you to finish because your head is goo and your spine crushed. Sound like fun? You'll lose your life trying though.

Sorry if that sounds a little harsh. It was fun to type though.

16. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

LOL... I wouldnt be talking jeep... The wrangler has had the same basic design for MANY years and it is no more than a box on wheels. IT IS A MINI HUMMER BASICALLY.. cept much worse...

17. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

I don't care what people say, I like boxy cars.

18. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

Not the Jeep Rubicon. It beats hummer H1,H2,Humvee 9 out of 10 times.

19. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

Man why the hell would you compare a Monster Truck to a stock Hummer?
If i were to see a race across the desert between the two i'd say the Hummer would win it...Do you ever see those Baja Races with the hummers in them...

20. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

It dont have to look good as long as it duz wot it's made for. How offen duz your husbent say "Hey big boy wanna go 4x4in' in our BMW X5"

21. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

If I were to go across a desert in a stock Hummer vs. the original Bigfoot, I would definitely take the Hummer. BECAUSE the original Bigfoot has such big tires, and the final drive ratio is so high that it can only go to top speeds of about 35 miles per hour. (I learned that on the Travel Channel. )

22. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

Unless bigfoot runs over the H1, the H1 would win all the time.

23. Re: i cant stand a BOX on wheels

The only thing that resembles a box on wheels is the H2 and H3
H1 does not look like a box on wheels!
And even if it did it's still the toughest thing on the road!

24. NOPE. its just YOU.
