So I did this last night and managed ~5:50 in basketball shoes, which I'm pretty happy with. I was dying at the end, but I could definitely improve that time significantly with a little work. Until last night, it had been a lonnnggg time since I measured myself running a mile or pushed myself that hard for a distance like that. I usually either do much longer distance at a significantly slower pace or jog with some sprints mixed in.

Many of the ellipticals, stationary bikes, and treadmills in the university's rec center have TVs attached to them. Seinfeld+running=ballin'
If I'm going for a long time, like the 70 minutes I usually listen to a podcast of a radio show. Usually either This American Life or, more recently, Adam Carolla's podcast. If I'm going for a shorter amount of time I usually just listen to some uptempo music to help keep my pace up.
I just finished listening to Carolla's most recent. I really hopes he can make some money off this. I'd be willing to drop him $1 a month for a couple of good shows a week.
I probably would as well. Depends on if I continue to listen to it regularly. I've donated to TAL, which I felt was necessary seeing as how I've listened to over 200 hours of it.
Today was a real rough circuit training Warm up : 500m of slow pace - 15 minutes of rowing - 15 minutes on a bike - 15 minutes of running 10 minutes of cool down I did some abs after and I am nice and tired now!
Hey man, i did pretty much exactly taht at the gym. 15 min bike, 15 min jog and 5 min row (LOL) + LOL at fake run on treadmill, fake bike on fake bike and fake row on row machine.
hey visciousf I walked to school today. well I drove to my friends place across the bridge and walked. that way I didn't have to be sneaky to avoid parking tickets too took like 35 minutes from my door to the middle of campus, which is like 10 minutes more. will do when I have to go to school early cause it was better than swearing at people in the parking garage
I am SO unfit at the moment. Haven't gone to the gym in over a year, and when I play soccer I'm getting puffed out within 5 minutes. I blame xbox live. Instead of exercising and stretching in my free time at home I play COD4 and GTA4 instead. Luckily, my xbox live is expiring soon, so hopefully I can go back to my old ways. Also now that I'm doing uni 2 days a week I have more time in those mornings/afternoons to do some exercise.
