    How about some numbers?

  3. Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

not any figs at the moment. i know the megabusa does 0-60 in 3.2 and 150 mph, and i know a low-spec (this being a high spec) is faster than a viper GTS round nurburgring. still that aint no viper. but the vette aint no megabusa. i think it would be fast as it keeps up with very fast superbikes round tracks in sunny old england.

A mega what!? And the 2001 Z06 beats the $86,000 Viper ACR around the track by a full 2 seconds.

Look at this link scroll down towards the bottom of the page and click on the movie tat says "Z06/viper/Cobra shootout"

#$%#ing hell... ever heard of a caterham seven? well, take a fibreglass 400kg monocoque and jam a well-endowed superbike engine in. its as fast as the best superbikes. a caterham R500 is under 8mins at nurburgring, and a megabusa is much faster than a R500.

    game, set match megabusa.

and for another thing, a £20k westfield XTR2 (mid-engined GT1 look-alike) would whup the megabusa's ass. so many good ENGLISH cars if you look deep enough.

also check out the dax rush.

    The Tiger Z100 WR is my choice. 0 - 60 in 2.8 s and 0 - 100 in 6.3 s !!!

  8. Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

Beating a Viper around a track isn't incredibly impressive, it's too heavy and handles for shit if you don't know exactly what to do and when to do it.

  9. Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

Where do people get the info that a viper handles like shit? How does a car win at lemans if it handles like shit? Can you answer that one without making another stupid statement?

  10. Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

How about a Corvette Lingenfelter 427TT one of the fastest road legal cars 0-60 in 1.9 sec and 0-100 in 4.4 sec!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What are the specs of the westfield XTR2?

Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

I did a little searching on the net and found some some info the XTR2 0-60 in 3.1, Suzuki GSXR Hayabusa engine, 6 speed sequential gearbox, top speed 150MPH, and found some pics here they are:

And check out this movie: http://www.birmingham101.com/WestfieldTESTDRIVE.wmv

  16. Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

how about beating a 360, or a 911 t? that not impressive enough for you? kit cars whup everything under 200k.

  17. Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

um, the stock viper isn't the lemans viper. different suspension, engine, brakes, the lot. DIFERENT!!!!!!!!!

  18. Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

    right, ok...

pour the money you'd spend on a 427tt into an XTR2 (which is street legal) and you have a Enzo-whupping machine. it already does 0-60 faster and 0-100 about t' same. WITH A MOTORCYCLE ENGINE!!!!!!!

  19. Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

The XTR2 is only a barely street legal car. Daily driver? Cross-country trip? Wanno go for groceries? 3-year, 36K mile warranty? Good luck.

Of course the XTR2 is going to be quicker around a short track. Is any other outcome expected?

  20. Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

no. but who here is going to use a lingenfelter 427tt to buy groceries? the XTR2 would be a third car for ass-kicking track days.
for those who want a more practical option there are some fairly sedate sevens knocking about, complete with heater and roof!

and i think it does have a warranty. and cars dont come in "street legal, barely street legal and not street legal". the 427 tt and 800tt are probably quite close to being non-street legal.

  21. Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

    Quote from R34 ever:
"no. but who here is going to use a lingenfelter 427tt to buy groceries?"

Uh, whoever has a Lingenfelter 427tt, that's who. Wanna compare trunk space?

"the XTR2 would be a third car for ass-kicking track days. for those who want a more practical option there are some fairly sedate sevens knocking about, complete with heater and roof!"

How about A/C? Dual climate controls for passenger and driver? Power seats, windows, mirrors, etc?
The point is, with the 427tt, you don't need to have 3 separate cars.

"and i think it does have a warranty."

Really? How long is it? Can it be serviced just about anywhere? How about in Germany, for example?

"and cars dont come in 'street legal, barely street legal and not street legal'. the 427 tt and 800tt are probably quite close to being non-street legal."

Come again? When did I say that cars come in 'street legal, barely street legal and not street legal'? Considering the 800TT is a customer car and is titled for street use, and was featured in C&D's Supercar Challenge (which specifically excluded track-only cars), I'd say it's pretty safe bet that the 800TT is street legal. And that's not even Hennessey's most powerful street car. (Another customer has a 1000TT).

  22. Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

    "trunk" space wasn't my point.

and anyway, this is a relatively cheap car for those who have copious amounts of money and want some cheap thrills without going to soho.

no, i think the warranty only extends to GB (im not sure). but i couldn't give a flying f*ck cause i live in england.

you said the XTR2 was barely street legal, ergo its is street legal.

all i know is this thing comes at you faster than a gerbil on speed.

  23. Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

The XTR2 is some unheard of car thats a little tiny go kart with a tiny bike engine and weighs like nothing, at least the 427TT has a V8 and has a very nice sound when accelerating not like a little bike but I have to say that the XTR2 is fast.

  24. Re: If we're humbling more expensive cars...

    its not a bloody go-kart!

and dont dis go-karts. the world champion's gokart does 0-60 in 2.6 secs and does 170mph.

im full of useless facts. and the XTR2 could have anything up to V6s and suchlike (some sevens can fit V8s in).

    consider this before posting again.

    ps are you american?
