int this car the integra type-R??

Discussion in '2003 Acura RSX Type-S Performace Package' started by GTRmazing, Aug 9, 2002.

1. well this seems to be exactly the same as the honda integra type-R
iam i right or wrong i would like to know.

2. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

In America there is no integra anymore, instead of calling the new redesigned bodystyle the integra, they called it the RSX for whatever reason

3. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

I think the type R version of this will be superior to the old integra r as well.

4. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

i think it is to confuse idiots into thinking this is the nsx's small brother.

5. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

integra type R has 220 hp runs a higher compression ratio and has a stiffer chassis and better suspension. other noticeable upgrades are recaro seats momo racing steering wheel larger performace tires the spoiler and the type R badging. this is simply a gimmmick to get customers to buy something with a little more edge and suck your money. a similar package is available with the celica GT-S with a GT spoiler larger rims slight factory body kit and such.

6. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

The Type-S also has recaro seats and a momo steering wheel...

7. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

like i said it runs a higher compression ratio and makes 220 hp. suspension has been modified and there is a limited slilp. there is a slight body kit (which i dont get why they incoporation since most people rip it off and put on a new gaudy one). anyhow this is just to suck your money. dont buy it.

8. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

Yes this is the Integra Type-R.

9. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

well this has no engine upgrades though

10. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

This is not a type R, this is a type S. On top of what everyone else has mentioned, the JDM Type R has a very different final drive ratio which shortens the gears significantly. The type R is a whole .7 seconds faster in the 0-60.

11. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

Blaze4Eva, the chassis code is the same for the USDM and JDM integras, the type R is still the DC5 chassis as is our type S. The chassis is the same although they are using a sportier spring setup on the type R in Japan.

12. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

yeah, this is the DC5, integra's replacement. im not sure which one i like better, the JDM DC2(i never liked the USDM DC2) or this new RSX. personally i would never buy an RSX but its for some. how much $ is the performance pacakge?

13. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

This performance package is a rip off, go to clubrsx.com everyone will agree with you all 50,000+ members many of whom own a type S already.

14. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

I hate Honda of America~~~~~~~~
they never bring the actual Type-R
they had the Intergra Type-R
but it wasnt the JDM version which looked alot better~
they had the SI but its no Civic Type-R
they had the NSX Type-R... i guess it was good, but the price -.-
y soooo expensive~~~~~~~~
Honda of America (and other Japanese car companies in America) should cut the American audience some slack and just bring over everything they have in Japan!~!~!~

15. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

There is a problem with bringing the new Type R out to America. It's compression ratio is so high there are very few gas stations on north america to offer a high enough octane. The Japs get it all good gas and great cars...but you can import a type R, you just might have to drive to the airport everytime you need gas, or buy octane booster.

16. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

i thought so too. maybe its coz they're badged differently in different countries.

17. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

First of all the civic type-r is comming to America in late 2003. Second of all its rumored that there might even be a rsx type-r but im not 100% sure. And for that comment about Japnese car companies not bringing over all their cars, gm and Ford sell cars in Europe that arent even available in America!

18. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

The RSX is replacing the Integra in American only

19. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

the dc2 integra type r is faster then this anywhere on the track the type r version of this that is for sale in japan is faster in a stright line then the old teg type r but the integra type r beats the rsx type r in handiling bc honda cut corners to save money on this new car. in japan the rsx is stilled called the integra the reason they changed the name was because that everyone was saying integra instead of acura integra so for america they changed the name to rsx so that people would more assoctiate acura with the cars and not jsut the cars name

21. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

This is the same body as the integra. Its just in different countries they are badging it as an Acura RSX. Everything is the same its just rebadged.

22. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

No, it isn't. Its slower and its more "civilized".

23. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

Is there a RSX Type-R yet?

24. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

Yes, it's called the Integra Type-R in Japan, and I believe in Europe too (or is the European model called RSX as well?)

25. Re: int this car the integra type-R??

nope in JPN, they have the integra (RSX) type-r, it's pushig 220hp. with a K20A motor. the next type-r.
