  1. Who makes (or made) the most powerful naturally aspirated Viper?

  2. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

the latest version of the Apex lethal 750 makes 810hp at the crank

  3. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

the 650R is all motor. its a great car. but i do agree that the apex viper is the best N/A viper. the tnt viper only has 777hp at the flywheel.

  4. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

only 777 hp.. oh man lol

  5. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

    I wish I had a car with "only" 777hp<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  6. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

well, when you consider all the other super vipers, like the hennessey's that make (at crank) 833hp (800tt) and 1175hp (1000tt) and svs's 1100hp (at crank) and 950hp at wheels (for stage III turbo) and their soon to be coming 1700hp TT rocket sled...........Yeah, the TNT only has 777hp!!!

  7. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

I would much rather have 777hp NA than 833 from a turbo-charged engine, however.

I really wish Viper tuners would give up on giving Vipers more HP, and rather just start lightening the damn things. I'd like to see a few hundred pounds off, as opposed to a few hundred hp added.

  8. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

Actually, if they kept making vipers the way they continue to, with lots of hp, and then lightened them up, that would also be great.

But i think with all the HP, they give the vipers, thier power-to-weight ratio is still great.

  9. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

Would you really consider something with 1700hp weighing 2500lbs safe for the streets? I certainly wouldn't drive it anywhere but on a track. Again, this is just my personal opinion, but I'd like to see Vipers around 2500lbs and maybe 700 - 800hp. Maybe a little more hp on occasion, but never more than 1000. A car with that much power just isn't streetable, regardless of whether they brand it a road car. If I'm looking for a track ready car, I'll look to the Competition coupe and go from there, or even a Viper GTS-R.

  10. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

well my car has a huge 200bhp!

  11. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

Same here. Those who actually own a car know it's not necessary to have 1000+hp in a road car (not that I'd be complaining if mine did) <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  12. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

The SvS STRYKER Viper has 1243hp at 3000 rpm and i would say 50 more at 6000 rpm

  13. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

the van i drive has around 200hp sohc v6, but the taurus sho i'm gettig will have 220, so BUYAH, Bluey. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>

  14. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

yeah sure, but it's TURBO-CHARGED! and that wasn't the topic...

  15. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

yeah, the stryker is TT, and this thread is about N/A vipers.

Either way, i believe the numbers viper man 666 posted are off:

    Stryker TT:

    Horsepower at Crank: 1,100

Torque (ft lbs) at Crank: 1,300

    Horsepower at Rear Wheels: 950

Torque (ft lbs) at Rear Wheels: 1,150

  16. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

my 67 chevy has an original 283 vette motor. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A> sure it gets horible gas mileage, but it eats the rear tires in second gear. and drains my tank as well. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  17. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

Wait a minute, what 1967 Corvete came with a 283? An furthermore an original (stock) GM 283 could definitley NOT "eat" tires in second gear. And if your 283 "drains your tank" then I really think you ought to do a little maintenance on it...

  18. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

ok, i know 1700hpviper, he owns a 67' chevy truck, which came with a 283, like a vette motor in 57.

And i've been in the truck, believe me, it eats the tires, considering it's a 283 w/a 4-speed, and there's no weight in the back of the bed, the tires will not get tracktion when you open it up in 2nd. Also, considering the 283 has 250k miles on it, and it's a 35 yr. old TRUCK, yeah it's going to drain the tank.

  19. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

Well alright, it's just that 1700hpviper said "283 original 67 vette engine" while there's no such thing, plus the 283 is not typical for the vette since it's found in different GM models at the time.
Also 1700hpviper never said that it was a truck.
A 283, even if it's 35 years old is still the smallest of "old" GM V8's and could be very gas efficient with little maintenance and care. Maybe clean the carb or something...

I driving a 66 Impala with a 468 myself and it's not the most fuel efficient enigne but I wouldn't say that "it drains my tank".

Sounds like it's a pretty cool truck though!

  20. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

actually, the 283 was the first engine put in the corvettes in the late 50s (started in 56 i believe)

also, the way 1700viper drives (opening it up all the time) yeah, it's gonna "drain the tank".

  21. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

    Fine.

  22. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

Since everyone is on the same page now. Thanks for the coments on the truck. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A> its a pos truck but it gets me around. Somebody tell me what would be the best color for an old chevy truck. but it has to be a solid color. And not mitalic. I think thats how you spell that? Anyways......solid color...... Oh yeah. Ive got mud grip tires on the back of it. They dont look like mud grip at all anymore. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A> They are almost gone.

  23. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

Okay sure, the Apex Viper is really good, and would be very fast, but what would happen if you rigged up that N/A engine to have a twin turbo or atleast a supercharger. That thing would haul ass.

  24. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

Black is the color for any car...

  25. Re: Is the TNT King Snake Viper the most powerful N/A Viper?

Well, if you were to turbo convert it you would have to lower compression ratio in order to keep the engine from blowing up so the modifications done to tuned n/a engine won't help as much once turbo converted.
