I know, right? A "sports package" from ACURA in 2003, and it barely gets 200 hp? That's dumb. Plus, except the rear spoiler, the under-spoiler and the wheels, aint nothin sport bout it....

  2. Re: Its sadly an underpowered car in the age of supercars.

it is a stock rsx. 200 hp is pretty impressive when you consider the engine size. besides its just to lure suckers into buying it.

  3. Re: Its sadly an underpowered car in the age of supercars.

yup it's sad, when honda takes a 4 cyl, and makes 200HP and ford uses a V6 (in the mustang) and can only make 190HP and the mustang is called a sports car, nothing sport about it, o well, a 2ltr 4cyl that will put to shame most 6 cyl american cars

y iz this even a supercar , i raced one of those a couple dayz ago , beat them in my piece of shit Oldsmobile

  5. Re: now whos gonna buy this

Holy sh!t.....you just might have something there smart one.....its not a supercar....a$$. And for what it is this car rocks its a 2 liter four cylinder that will run with a Mustang GT. This car runs 15.0 in the quarter compared to the 14.8 to 14.9 that the Mustang GT is rated at.

Yeah... as much as I love Honda (and I do), this is a joke. True it isn't a supercar, but to even call it sporty is a stretch. It IS sexy though! One of my favorite things about honda is their styling (NSX body-level spoiler... who comes up with great stuff like that?). I like the RSX, but c'mon. My dad always said "there's no replacement for displacement"... japan has done a good job of kinda proving that wrong... but great engineering will only get you so far. The new Accords are WAY beefier than i think I like them being (240HP in a family sedan? wow), they should've done it the other way around: RSX: 240HP- Accord: 200HP... that would've have more sense I think.

  7. Re: now whos gonna buy this

A 2001 Mustang GT ran a 13.7 in the May 2002 edition of MM&FF and that was completely stock with 11.3 miles on it. So before you go passing off shit info about cars, check it out first. Maybe a 3.8L V6 Mustang will run a 14.8, 14.9 or a 15.0, but a 99-up GT will waste your Acura on the strip evn if it cant beat it on the track.

  9. Re: Its sadly an underpowered car in the age of supercars.

im sure u did..*smacks him* i dont think when hes ahead of you by 5 cars is winning

  10. Re: Its sadly an underpowered car in the age of supercars.

Isn't this like all the other ryced up cars on here? Just to show tunning potentiel?

  11. Re: now whos gonna buy this

A Mustang GT runnin 14.8? haha!

  12. Re: now whos gonna buy this

MMFF is a completely unreliable source, NO Mustang GT is capable of running less than 14 seconds, and 14.7 is a typical time while 14.3 is pushing it to its maximum potential. A 99+ GT may be a bit faster in straight line acceleration, but will lose pitifully on the track.

And a 4 Door family sedan will roast your precious SVT Cobra, though in straight line acceleration is only about equally fast. So Ha ha, a family sedan is faster than Fords (The GT40 does not count as only one has been sold) top end sports car.

Who ever said that you needed high HP ratings to have a fun car? Honda has NEVER been worried about high HP or building "Supercars." The perfect example is the Acura NSX. The NSX was built for the first time back in 1989 with 276HP and still today, the NSX has the same HP and looks EXACTLY the same! The ITR had 195HP and is still one of the best Auto-X cars known to date! This only proves but one thing, you don't need HP to have a good car.

Honda just needs to keep producing their cars and eventually people will understand you don't have to have HP to have fun. The new RSX with the performance package is an awesome car in my opinion.

  14. Re: Its sadly an underpowered car in the age of supercars.

Except you can buy it for $23,000!

    LOl

  16. Re: Its sadly an underpowered car in the age of supercars.

Yes, and was that NA? What was the displacement?

Big deal bud, Subaru has a car with a 4cyl that produces 300hp and 300more lbft torque.

Honda has an NA 2.0 litre engine that produces 250hp and 160lbft torque.

That's funny, considering since the Civic Type-R (j-spec) has produced almost the same amount of power from a 1.8 since 1997, and the same amount of power from a 2.0 since 2001.

    Then there's the 170hp from Suzuki's 1.3 litre Hayabusa engine (GSX-R) LOL. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>

Nobody's bragging about the power from Honda's 4 cyl. engine here, it was just mentioned that the power is pretty good for a low end sub-sport compact with a 4cylinder engine. So don't be such a jerkoff. This is an ACURA forum, so, unlike you speaking of BMW engines, speaking of the engine in this car IS relevant, so if YOU don't care, then just don't post here, it's as simple as that.

  17. Re: Its sadly an underpowered car in the age of supercars.

I didn't even have to check out the stats to see what's under the hood to know I don't like it.....It looks like something my dad would drive, not something sporty....

  18. Re: Its sadly an underpowered car in the age of supercars.

this car isnt MEANT to be a supercar. and it is quite sporty. this is someting for a guy fresh out of college who wants a fun car to drive. and thats bs about beatin one in an oldsmobile. maybe u were racin, but he wasnt. this is a great car for its price and id reccommend it to a frest graduate.

and one other ting....... notice u have NEVER seen a japanese car wit more than 300 hp. dont go off sayin that they dont care about hp or the engineers cant do it. both have nothing to back it up. theres a law in japan that says cars cant have more than 300 hp for some reason. otherwise the NSX would have a 500hp V12 and would smoke anytin on the track. well, thats jus my opinion and not EVERYthing, but damn close!!!

  19. Re: Its sadly an underpowered car in the age of supercars.

the normal acura already has 200-hp budy, so check your stats before you speak. 2nd, the package only inhanses other parts except for the motor.

  20. Re: now whos gonna buy this

that is pretty impressive and with that flexible motor that it has you can do miracles th the car (in racing)\

  21. Re: now whos gonna buy this

dude that's a gt. if you take that acura and tweak it im sure it will compete against the mustang. and displacement is not everything. smart engineering is thought. a 1985 porsche rsr got 500-hp out of a 2.1 l or something like that.

  22. Re:

ok y are we dissin mustangs huh you all know that a 2000 saleen would kik aney honda or acura for that matters but and there is no convinsin me otherwise you can all take ur little r!ced up 4cyl cars and suck on a *^$#@!

  23. Re: Its sadly an underpowered car in the age of supercars.

    well said

  25. Re: Its sadly an underpowered car in the age of supercars.

i hate ppl with crappy modified imports and think they r cool and all that but they r nothing but little pest when it comes to performance. last week when i was taking my 72 duster out for one last ride before the winter some guy pulled up beside me at a red light with a "suped up" rsx and starts revving his engine. and that was pretty funny cuz i reved back, and BOOYYY that wiped the smile off his face.
