iTunes Question

  1. Yes, iTunes sucks, blah blah blah.

So whenever you add files to iTunes, like say from my "My Music" folder, it also creates another folder within "My Music" called "iTunes Music" in which it more or less copies everything I've added to iTunes to another folder.

Do I need to keep this "iTunes" folder or is it just extraneous? It's taking up a good amount of memory that I don't really want to use.

Also, anytime I bought something from iTunes, it sent that album to the iTunes folder. I thought I had gone through and cut all the new things out of there and put them where they belonged in various folders, and then deleted it, but later found out that I had lost that music. Is there anyway I can get it back, like call Apple and be like look, here's what happened, it somehow got deleted, is there anyway I can d/l them again or something without paying again?
  2. go into preferences....advanced....uncheck "copy files to itunes folder...."
  3. It already was unchecked, but still copied them anyways...
