  3. I wouldnt pay more for it than I would for a XJ220.

  4. Jaguar needs another car like that.

  5. if I were to win the lottery this or an XJ220 would be the first thing I would buy.

  6. such a beautiful car.

  7. this is such an awesome car

  8. XK120 Hardtop.
    Any SS.

  9. **** off, grandpa.

  10. I saw an SS today.
    It resides nearby.

It's on my list of things to take pics of.

  11. hence first thing I would buy. I'd definately get a 120 and an E type as well (depending on how much money won an XKSS would be top of the list or C/D type). I'd just restore the 120 or E type in my own time to save a bit of money.

  12. I meant SS as in the prewar SS cars.

  13. Pre whaaaa it sounds too mcuh like nazi, time for name change cars.

  14. why did this gorgeous car have to be such a dog dynamically?

  15. wut.
Actually, they changed to Jaguar after the war because of the name.
It stood for Swallow Sidecar company, but people thought it was nazi SS.

  16.
  17. Which car did Jag win LeMans with in the late-80s?

  18. The Jaguar XJR-9LM won in 1988 driven by Lammers, Wallace and Dumfries, breaking a 7 year winning streak from Porsche. It was also the first time since 1957 that Jaguar had won Le Mans, the D-Type having scored that previous win.

The Jaguar XJR-12 was driven to victory in 1990 by Nielsen, Cobb and Brundle, their last Le Mans victory to date.

  19. I know. if I could find an SS100 (and I had the money) I'd buy one. I have a rather amuseing add from 1935 that I'll scan onto here when I actually get a scanner/have access to a scanner.

  20. I've seen this SS around here twice within like 1km radius, so I know it lives around here. I want to talk to the owner - who I imagine is an 80 to 90 year old man.

  21. what model of SS is it? if its a 90 or 100 I'd say theres about a 80% chance its a kit.

  22. Not sure.
    I haven't ventured up close.

  23. I sat in one...
