  2. Oh, Maserati Murano, I see.
  3. looks good but is it a worthy gallardo replacement?
  4. Well now let's see you've got BMW, Porsche, Lamborghini, whose next with an suv, possibly Ferrari?
  5. is gonna release the ghetto-sled-xover
  6. As long as it comes with a cup holder, I'm game.

    Lamborghini SUV confirmed

New SUV will be a successor to the Lamborghini LM002 and is set to debut at the Beijing Motor Show

Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has confirmed it will re-enter the 4x4 market with an all-new, three-door SUV, due to be unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show in April. The model is the spiritual successor to the LM002 of the eighties, and will be called the MLC.

The Lamborghini SUV is the firm's second attempt at a third model line, and it had been desperate to keep details of the SUV under wraps. But leaks from parent company Audi have forced it to admit to the concept car's existence. Yet Lamborghini insiders also admit that the SUV project has gone beyond being a simple concept car, and is almost certainly bound for production in 2015.

The SUV will be based on a platform that will also be used on the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, VW Touareg and new Bentley SUV. However, Lamborghini has been given free reign to modify the platform to bring the car's kerbweight down.

  9. MLC is such a boring, non Lambo name
  10. I have a feeling that Mercedes may have something to say about this being called an ML-anything.

Lamborghini SUV privately previewed in New York - details divulged

Select Lamborghini clientele were invited to a special preview event in New York recently to guage reaction of a potential new third model. Unable to keep quiet, extensive details have spilled out via social media.

Described by one of the pre-show guests, Bryan Salamone, as a Cherry Red 4x4, the vehicle is on its way to Beijing for its world premiere at Auto China late next month.

Further details divulged by another pre-show guest, Ed Bolian, on his personal blog are more forthcoming. Unfortunately, the page has since been removed, but not before the key details could be harvested.

Bolian states the Lamborghini SUV has a body silhouette that is similar to the BMW X6. In fact, the unofficial renderings published by Quattroroute magazine (images attached) show this quite well, although there are many details that are different. Overall size is the same size as the Audi Q7 which raises the question if its based on VW Group PL71 SUV platform. Previous reports have said the SUV will use a modified version the Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg platform.

The SUV is very muscular and has a somewhat high ride height although the carbon fiber body kit makes it appear closer to the ground. Full LED headlights define the Estoque like front end while the rear end displays four trapezoidal exhaust tips which are integrated flush with the rear bumper diffuser. Side mirrors incorporate some kind of video camera system.

Wheels are 24-inches in diameter and incorporate a carbon fiber design similar to the Aventador J but still an all-new design never seen before. Brakes are naturally carbon-ceramic.

Inside, the four seats are similar to those seen in the Sesto Elemento concept and the cabin is bisected by a high center console that extends between the two rear passengers. Carbon fiber trim abounds.

Spiritually and conceptually, the Lamborghini SUV, rumored to be called the MLC concept, has no relation to the classic LM002 from the late 1980s. No details were given about the powertrain but previous reports say output could be provided by a 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces approximately 584 hp (435 kW / 592 PS).

Stay tuned until April 23 when the first press day of the Auto China show in Beijing gets under way.

Lamborghini SUV to be named Urus

Chinese media are reporting that the long rumored Lamborghini SUV will be on show at the Beijing Auto Show and will be named Urus. The Urus nameplate was initially rumored to be attached to a new Aventador replacement, but if the Chinese whispers are correct, then Urus will be an SUV rather than another supercar.

The Chinese whispers also went onto report that the three door SUV will use a face similar to the Estoque Concept. Although the show opens on Monday morning, its likely that we will be able to see the beast being rolled onto the auto show floor on Saturday or Sunday. We’ll keep you updated.
  19. It won't.

Lamborghini Urus SUV Pictures Leaked Ahead Of Beijing Debut

Yesterday we told you that Lamborghini’s SUV had an official name: Urus. Today we have more exciting news, as the photos of the car have just leaked.

Czech site leaked these pictures early on today, and the images show off the Lamborghini Urus’ edgy character with its sharp lines that remind us of the Lamborghini Aventador. It’s also worth taking a look at that interior, which certainly brings the full Lamborghini package, including jet-fighter-like switches and displays.

We still don’t know what’s the power behind the Urus, but we hope to hear they’ve managed to put one of the brands famous V10s in there, presumably the V10 that’s in the Gallardo, making 575-hp.

The official reveal will come at Auto China in Beijing next week.
