no problem, a Cobra R is what around 55k? for that you can have a 700+ BHP 300ZX ive seen one of these run sub 9's on street tires. that leves the Cobra almost 5s!!! behind. every aspect 0-60, 0-100, top speed, you name it, the 300ZX eats it alive. dont get me wrong i love the cobra , i think its a great car, ide love one but it just couldnt keep up. and handaling-wise, someone look up slalom and skidpad stats for a cobra and a 300ZX GTZ (baisicly a toned down version of what we're talking about here) but i believe the GTZ holds over 1G on the skidpad andruns a full 10 MPH faster in the slalom.

sorry to burst you bubble but this is a direct quote from a "Road & Track" review on 9 new tuners comparing them to the viper and a vette ZR-1

(speaking of the 300ZX GTZ) -"The most exhierating tuner car here pays back heaping helpings of beat-a-V-8 fun. Excellent suspension balance and a strong high-rpm charge let you leave behind a swath of broken egos. "

may i add that the test included 2 mustang tuners as well, the Bittle Mustang, and the Vortech Mustang, not to mension the Morrison Camaro Z28

  3. Re: 300ZX

first of all 55k would by an old 300zx this Cobra is brand new so you can't go comparing the price.....for 55k you could also by a 70's muscle car drag racer so you can't really go saying that.....but what I was saying was that the 94 Cobra (not Cobra R) would beat a 300zx TT. As for your comparison before moter trend tested the Cobra R and the Viper and z06....the Cobra performed the best on the track out of the 3 beating the viper by 4 sec's and the Zo6 by 2 sec's on a small track so it's quite a large difference...and the Cobra R runs a 12.8 1/4 mile that would only be 3 sec difference from your fantasy 300zx.....and just to let you know for 55k you can a 94 stang (cobra or GT) over 800hp and obviously a gigantic torque amount much larger then the 300zx due to engine displacement......so the 1/4 mile time would be low 9's aswell.....and remember in the 1/4 mile Torque is very important

  4. Re: 300ZX

Ok 94Stang, I'm tired of you. I'm jumping in the arena. I know a dude with a modded 99 4.6, he will not race 300ZX's. He went to FL for a summer vacation and saw a 10 sec Cobra R get jacked by a 300ZX. The Stillen 300ZX is not fantasy, it's reality. The only fantasy here is you thinking Stangs are cool compared to Z's. Oh yeah. And stop posting on the Cerbera 4.5 forum, that one's not worth arguing either.

  5. Re: 300ZX

ok buddy the Cobra R isn't even the fastest stang there's a 7 litre stang with 850hp from the ford factory trust me it runs 8's ain't no Z going to touch that

  6. Re: 300ZX

oh too nasty nate.....your 300zx GTZ runs a 14 1/4 mile the Cobra R would eat it.....and remember the Cobra R is one of the best factory track cars

  7. Re: 300ZX

oh and strictly out of curiosity, you wouldn't happen to consider the 93 that you've mentioned a good looking, or even well styled for that matter. personaly id just as soon drive the thing off a cliff than look at it.

  8. Re: 300ZX

what 93 are you talking about

  9. Re: 300ZX

Can I say that Mustangs arn't all that bad I mean come on they are a part of a great car history, but I prefer the import scene because well I like inovation and the mustang to increase the HP all you gotta do is increase the displacement am I not right? because correct me if I'm wrong? with the imports you can't Jam a 610 V8 7.0L engine into it I like the very do able challenge of making a I4 2.0L able to Eat one of these killer beasts, I mean theres no use compairing the to because inovation and Displacement are not the same thing, agreed? but compair this to a car with equal engine size now we're talkin, yes I belive the Cobra can beat one of these stock but through some modds onto this thing and it's not an even playing field, B4 the mods it's an uneven playing field for the cobra 5.0 V 3.0 NE1 else see an advantage but 221.9HP 3.0L 1461KG 1990 V 215HP 5.0L 1542KG (This is the 1994 model) I think we know who won the race!
Please I respect that you voice the opinion of an American Muscle car fan but check the #'s first

  10. Re: 300ZX

you also should check the torque Voices and the 1/4 mile times

what are you talking about can't afford them I had the money for a Z and didn't buy one cause there is way better cars for the money.....and I never said I ahd the best american car....the Ford Gt 40 is the best american car and the best car ever......haha can't afford one buddy I was going to buy a BMW which is better then both are cars.....but insurance was insane

Personally I'm going to argue that the Saleen S7 is on top of the American car ladder, and a BMW isn't to much, it all depend on what model, A saleen mustang eh? Supercharging a Stang don't make it a Saleen, the engine from a Saleen is much better than a Supercharged 5.0L mustang engine, the only thing that they have incommon is the basic engine idea, I'm not saying that you didn't add the basic Saleen engine it just seems highly unlikely to me, some more things from other people that I found ignorant is that an NA 300ZX is around the same price range as a stang people bought stangs because they liked em more, people blast other cars because they think that they are smart but want to show off their ignorance about cars, people loose races because they can't drive, or it's a dumb ass racing in a sraight line, if you don't have skills stay out of the corners, I'm also wondering why people what to prove that they are ignorance by blasting cars? I mean I do it only when I'm very pissed off with people

Id like to go on record for saying that I had a 1998 323IS with Dynan ECU upgrade and pop charger my insurance was cheaper than my Z.
I So agree that teh S7 Saleen is Americas best production upcoming and on the rise but that price is steep at 400k.
Now as for price if you uses the NADA as any bank or finanace company does you will see that the Z is more expensive. 2) the sales of the Z dropped drastically making it scare AKA valuable/collectable look at this link which was copied from an old Courtesy Nissan White Page. Particually look at the entry for 1996 as it states the number of 300's sold in 94/95.
    http://members.aol.com/KarlWS/zhistory.html

vs the Stang which will not be a collectors item for long time to come. the biggest thing for ford is that its sprot car be all GMs car in sales every year since the new style stang was intoduced so now GM is discontinuing them the TA/Camero/Firbird etc etc GONE!! Cause ford balanced their car better although they put no space in the driver area.

  12. Re: 300ZX

well actually there's a huge amount of space for the driver I'm 6'1 and I have plenty of room.....and the mustang is an instant collectable....it can't not be every mustang is a collecter car...you can't argue you that......Mustangs are one of the most known cars in the world.....I'd have to say that the stang would be more of a collector's item then the Z , because the stang is in such high demand....and as for your BMW it might be cheaper to insure in the states because in Canada all the parts have to be imported which raises insurance a lot.

  13. Re: 300ZX

Somebody broke into my Z and when they took the radio they cut out my factory plug, does anyone know which color wires do what?

The stang is high demand but also supersaturated volume. The 94 300z only had 6000 sold and even less in 95 and its demand is grossly over whelming. The stang is ok but wont see marketable stang for quite a few years maybe with the Cobra R and its 300 made but thats as clsoe to the Z as it will come.

  16. Re: 300ZX

The Cobra R is already in higher demand they are completely sold out...the 300zx never had a waiting list like the Cobra R,,,,,,and lets not forget it's a Mustang it's a collectable no matter what

  17. Re: 300ZX

the 1/4 mile time for the TT was wrong. Read any old magazine that featured the 300zx TT and you'll see that the 1/4 mile times were from 13.7 - 14.3, depending on the magazine. The person who typed 15 for the 1/4 mile time on this website is a bag of retarded monkey dung.

I test drove a stock '90 TT and the thing took off like a bat out of hell, and the cornering, oh the cornering *drool*.

I'm planning on getting a n/a 300 z for around $5-7k and soup the crap out of it. I'll look for one that has had a new engine and/or transmission put in it or I'll put them in myself. Stage IV or V is what I'll be getting to.

  18. Re: 300ZX

top speed is only 8 mph higher that's no big deal....but you say it handles better well the handling of a Mustang is underated, because of the reputation of high torque as being loose in the back end.....The mustang only has this trait in winter or very wet road conditions so don't say it handles better....And remember that a 94 stang is totally different from the 1993 and older....the handling was vastly improved....so you shouldn't go saying it handles better cause the Mustang is a true track performer.....And looks is all about opinion a lot of people would say either car looks better so that I can't really argue but obviously since I own one I think the stang is nicer

  19. Re: 300ZX

it's only 8MPH higher? hold up here aren't you the one that made a deal out of .3 seconds? yes I will agree with most of your last MSG but I've driven both and belive me this car here out handels the Mustang by alot

  20. Re: 300ZX

well still the 300zx doesn't have the reputation of track performance as the mustang so I don't really know what to say about handling...

  21. Re: 300ZX

speed aside the mustangs just don't have any style and the 300 zx is one of the smoothest looking cars around. And if you haven't driven a 300 zx then you have no right speak badly about the car.

  22. Re: 300ZX

we can't argue looks cause everyone has a different opinion

  23. Re: 300ZX

Let' see, Stang boy. What car made the "Car & Driver Top ten List for its whole production run, oh yea the 300ZX. For its balanced handling, performance and overall value!!

  24. Re: 300ZX

the stang always makes the motor Trend Top ten what's your point

    Re: 300ZX

Heh I look at all these posts about the Z and it goes to show why it was made so popular, cause so many people talked about it good or bad it got its press then some rnadom guy from toyota put it on the track.
Because of that press I now own two a N/A and a TT and for the record here in DFW area Stock 5.0 and 95-98 GTs get pulled on the freeway trying to get away from my N/A Z. Get run at the light trying to make their flowmaster straight pipes put more wind in their sails. Sorry dude I have great respect for Ford Mustang Historically but as far as GT stang a whooping AMERICAN MUSCLE V8 going aginst the lil effecient 3.0 liter V6 has beaten them over and over again. Now as for my TT its getting a full array of boltons and looking at 680Bhp. So 94Stang you should really stop the magazine racing and cruise on over to my neighborhood so I can add another ford sticker to my wing. But for all those who want to know about that lil rnadom guy from toyota that put the Z on the map.
