Reading the article and blur, it states that the XF is the brand saving Jaguar and also that true to Jaguar's style, beautiful. How wrong that is, its not beautiful at all. Usually cars that seem ugly at first tend to grow on me after a while, but not in this case, just plain ugly.
Unfortunately I don't see this succeeding at all. It's nothing like what a Jaguar should be <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A> It's just ugly. I don't get all the rage over the concept.
One faintly pretty sedan is going to save Jaguar? It looks like a 5-series/A6/E-class rival, and those cars are, well, pretty good. What's the compelling reason to choose Jaguar? I'll bet they could kick themselves for not producing that smaller sports car several years ago. Sports cars aren't money-makers, right? Just ask BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Audi....
The whole thing is a disaster. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A> I'm dissapointed in Jaguar.
Agreed. I saw a thread in Eurotrash, but today I thought about it abit more. It looks wayy better than the old one.
from what I remember, the XJ6/XJS saved Jaguar in the '80s... The XJ6 then had to compete with the BMW 7-series/Audi V8/Mercedes-Benz S-Class then, with just 6 or 12 cylinders. The XJS had the same engines.
I thought the X-type was the affordable model. This seems like a replacement for the S-type, but more Maxima-looking.
This vehicle is a disgrace. The fact that Jaguar would even release this as a concept is an utter outrage.
To reply to F1Owner- The 80's were good for just about everyone except the Rolling Stones. The Japanese luxury makes forced the Germans to get better and Jaguar has been well behind ever since.
I just can believe how well they ruined the awesome looks of th cx-f concept with such small changes! I think it's a lot like the current BMW 3-series.. They tried to do something different, modern and stylish but then ended up with just _A_ car. I mean, IMO this isn't that horrible looking, but it is boring.. They played it too safe. BTW is this styled by the same designer that designed the new Mondeo??
i am sorry but i don't think that this one car is going to save the brand it just looks so plain, they need to refresh their whole lineup and maybe add a new model (the XK is ok but this just doesn't cut it), would it hurt to be innovative and have a bit more power? couldn't they produce a car that could at least compete with the m5, or the m6?
