M6 walks all over C6 Z06

  1. *smack* Quiet, you!

If we went by your view, a Ferrari 348 would be able to beat a Ferrari Enzo around a race track, stop being stupid.

  2. Uhmmm, yes, so?

Stupid? lets say that I, with barely no racing experience take the M6 for a spin around the track. Then I do the same with the Z06 and post a SLOWER lap-time. What does that tell you? Same n00b driver, same day, same track, same weather condition...

DOESN'T THAT TELL YOU SOMETHING ABOUT THE CAR?

edit: sometimes I wonder if you people ever drove a car.

  3. the same driver, Stig.

  4. Z06 winz.

  5. So Top Gear needs two drivers every time they want to see which car is faster around their track during a comparison test? <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/disappointed.gif"></A>

  6. wow, are you joining the thread to see if you're more dense than Elise or Jew Jew?

    edit: and "Hotrodder".

  7. They're the dense ones? I'm sorry, have you even been paying attention to the shit you're spewing here? We argue using laptimes set by professional drivers countless times every day and now suddenly they don't matter because none of us could post similar laptimes given our lack of skill? WTF?

  8. Did you read the thread?

Hotrodder: "Throw them on a race track and see who wins."

    valcom: "Who's driving?"

2998ccCSL: "that's probably the single most critical question."

Steven Segal: "Z06 is faster around a track than a Zonda for shitsakes. It might not be utter domination, but you're wrong."

PandaBeat: "depends on who's driving. The Z06 is HARD to drive at the limit."

EliseS2: "No, it is a stupid question. As you show it always depends on who is driving. We are comparing the cars, not the drivers. If you want to compare drivers, do that at superdrivers.net. In this thread we are comparing the cars."

Who the #$%# said that "laptimes set by professional drivers ... don't matter because none of us could post similar laptimes given our lack of skill"?

  9. There isn't much point arguing people who are paper racers. they have their magazines behind them, and that's enough. to them, nothing is more literal than the best single lap achieved by someone who drives for a living. the context is pointless. Their method of judging cars is never based on which is most likely to win in all situations, but who will win under one extreme unrealistic situation: driven consistantly perfect by an infaliable driver god.

It may be possible to rationalize that this is a product of their ego, believing in their own ability to be perfect.

and I imagine next they'll dispute that they think they are perfect drivers, but that would be making more of what I said than what's actually there, again ignoring the context.

  10. EXACTAMENTE

  11. Yes, I've read the thread several times and you're still the one who is being dense. For every car comparison thread in the history of sc.net, laptimes have been compared under the assumption that each car is being driven by someone who can extract the car's full potential. Anyone who isn't a complete retard/fanboy would interpret "Throw them on a race track and see who wins" as "Let a qualified driver have a go in each around the same track on the same day and see who wins." But nooooo, suddenly you can't compare two cars on a track unless you have two drivers, and because the significantly faster car is harder to drive than the other one, laptimes set by professional drivers are irrelevant.

I'm extremely happy, however, to hear that you've had the pleasure of pushing both the C6 Z06 and the M6 on a racetrack and can now report to us that the Z06 is HARD to drive at the limit while the M6 is a cakewalk in comparison, to the extent that the significantly porkier/slower M6 would actually win unless the cars were being driven by God himself. Is this a regular thing in Uruguay? You must invite me sometime.

"so stop masturbating to laptimes achieved by TRAINED DRIVERS and shut the #$%# up."

You must have seriously shit short-term memory, eh?

  12. Wow. Just wow.

  13. Wow. Just wow.

  14. Apparently valcom is a retard.

  15. That's clever. I'll be sure to bring this up whenever a car you favor beats a considerably less extreme car around a racetrack. A laptime no longer matters unless John Doe could replicate it.

  16. Thank you, I'm flattered. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  17. I thought you were better than this, man.

  18. If there is even a hint of BMW involved he starts drooling and making no sense.

  19. Oh come on, D. I'm not going to nudge because we are somewhat more personal. We haven't always seen eye to eye. Think back about 2 years ago. Doesn't stop me from liking you one bit, so I know whatever you might think now won't be what you think later. You're much too courtious.

  20. I still like you lots, but this is the internet, and the internet is a cold, hard place. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>

  21. Yes, do it Guido.

    edit: and

"A laptime no longer matters unless John Doe could replicate it."

    Yes, that's exactly what I said... <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/disappointed.gif"></A>

  22. That's true, even if we don't e-gue as much as before <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>.

  23. And I'm sorry, magazine racers/Blitzchnells, if I need to be the motherfUcking Stig to post a laptime in car A equal to the one that n00b-PandaBeat can post in car B, that means that car B is better than A.

And that's comparing CARS, not drivers, EliseS2...

Wow. This coming from the guy that said:

"What makes me think the Ferrari can do it is that Ferrari test drivers and novices put down similar laps. lap after lap."

I do not think you know anything about track driving and should probably not comment on the difference between skilled drivers and begineer drivers.

Here is a road and track test of the NSX, 911, and Z06. They had a new driver, an experienced track driver, and a professional. They have the results for each car and each driver. It is a great test and it would be great if more of this was done.

    http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?section_id=31&article_id=56

The reason times of skilled drivers are used is that is the times that we have. If not every single time the argument of the drivers skill would be brought up and that is pointless. It is an objective measure, that is why it is used. Lap times are objective.

  25. The point here is that you have NO WAY of knowing that you would be as fast in an M6, unless you have no idea how to drive a manual. The fact that the Z06 is nervous at the limit (how do you know the M6 isn't?) doesn't mean much when it's #$%#ing 5 seconds faster around an average racetrack. If I need to push balls-out in car B to post a laptime that I could post in car A without getting close to its full potential, that means that car A is better than B.
