Make Mazda build the Mx-5 with the Taurus v6

    Can't. The way the SHO v-6 (I assume that's the one you meant) is designed, to turn it longitudinal and upright to fit the Miata bay would mean it would starve of oil.

    But a Mustang 5.0 fits perfectly!

    how about mazda use their own engines

    they could turbo it
    use a 2L engine and add svt
    they could use the engine set out for this concept
    use the 2.3L svt engine from the mazda 6
    or could just slap a turbo on it (as done by mazda in aus.)

    the reason why mazda doesn't put in a V6 is because of the weight. miatas aren't supposed to be drag cars, they're made for handling and agile maneuverability. putting in a V6 would take away from it's 50/50 weight balance which gives the miata it's amazing handling and light weight.
