McLaren lookalike

Discussion in '1994 Jaguar XJ220 S TWR' started by wexel, Jan 28, 2003.

  1. This car looks like a lot of cars... Mclaren, Koeningsegg cc... I am not saying this car is a rip-off, because this car is the first built of those named above. Maybe there is some kind of link between the cars.. Are they drawn by the same designer or something??

  2. Re: McLaren lookalike

    In your opinion.

  3. Re: McLaren lookalike

    they had the same designers.
Most of the designers that built the XJ220 went on to build the McLaren when Jaguar ditched the v12 XJ220 project.
remember, both are UK cars, and offer a similar format in terms of engine placement, and aerodynamic curves on the body shell

  4. Re: McLaren lookalike

Get off the weed, they look nothing alike, lol!

  5. Re: McLaren lookalike

they don't look a like, i agree with you.
but they do have some basic similarities.
Aerodynamic body shell configuration, engine placement, etc.
    the basic stuff.
In a way, even the nose and tail of the car are similar.
One big difference is, is that the McLaren is a much smaller car.
the XJ220 is a huge car.

  6. Re: McLaren lookalike

Yes I heard that the Mclaren F1 is just 1 inch longer than a Porsche(993)911,but ofcourse way wider and lower than the 911 as well.

  7. Re: McLaren lookalike

What have you been smoking dude they took nothin alike

  8. Re: McLaren lookalike

yeah maybe this car looks more like a McLaren than it does a honda accord but come on dude, most of the cars on this site probably somewhat resemble another car dickhead.

  9. Re: McLaren lookalike

Imo it dosen't look anything thing like the Mclaren

  10. Re: McLaren lookalike

The XJ220 has a style all it's own.

  11. Re: McLaren lookalike

alot of things u've been saying that look a like DON'T look a like.

  12. Re: McLaren lookalike

The XJ220 was the trend setter, its a beautiful peice of aerodynamic engineering and mechanical engineering, i think it may be the best performing production V6 (note: PERFORMING! not most powerful!) and if it wasnt for ford cutting the budget it would have been a lightweight aluminium alloy V12 beast of a car!!

Anyway with ford cutting the budget it made it easy for mclaren to lure away the jaguar engineers and designers because mclaren were saying build a supercar that will beat anything, ford (via jag) were saying build a supercar... but do it cheaply but hats off to the jag boys, the engine is amazing!! Does anyone know what it redlines at?

Keep gettin distracted by that beautiful engine ... subject.. ahh lookalike ure insuoltin the car man its not a mclaren lookalike, neither is the mclaren and XJ220 lookalike, they are just designed to be aerodynamically efficient, hence the wedge shape.
