Mclaren tunning the Viper ?

  1. Come on !!.... Why they Mclaren help to tune their engine ?
     
  2. They don't. They've made 1200HP versions of the same V10, but it's the name 'McLaren' that makes it a hit. It might fill the void between the Muscle Car fans and the European Sports Car fans by merging an pure bredd American muscle car with a European formula 1 racing company. Kinda cool.

The idea is nice and some people, like me, would appreciate the attempt there at--like you said--'merging a pure bred American muscle car with a European Formula 1 racing company,' but I'm sure some would hate this. The European-biased fans would think it a disgrace to the McLaren name and the Pro-American Only people would think it retarded to add actual technology to the mighty Viper. For my own sakes, I LIKE THIS CAR. This is a nice Viper and if I could afford it I'd buy it.
     
  4. This McLaren(the engine specialist/tuner) and that Mclaren (the F1 cars) are 2 different, unrelated companies

     
  5. I only thought that ASC only took a few parts from McLaren Technologies, part of the Mclaren empire.

  7. The McLaren company that tuned this Viper is the same company that created special editions of the Lincoln LS.

    This McLaren has no connection whatsoever with the McLaren that built the F1, Mercedes-Benz SLR, or the Formula One team.
     
  8. So your saying there is more than one McLaren company ? Its all the same company, with different branches off one main organization. like they have there racing team, the team that made the SLR and the F1, and a whole branch designated for performance parts. go to there website it explains it better than i can.

    "In 1969, New Zealand born Bruce McLaren, engineer turned racer, established a company in North America to support his Can-Am interests. In addition to the engineering base that the U.S. company provided, McLaren Engines (as the group was then called) proved to be a significant North American logistics advantage, being centrally located in Livonia, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit). It was also no coincidence that the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway was only a few hours away.
