Mercury Marauder vs. P-71 Crown Vic Interceptor

1. Which would you rather have? The muscle car, or the bad-ass cop car?

2. Re: Mercury Marauder vs. P-71 Crown Vic Interceptor

I'd totally take the cop car.

3. Re: Mercury Marauder vs. P-71 Crown Vic Interceptor

heck yes, I would take the cop car over this anyday! man those things can really haul azz when you need them to

4. Re: Mercury Marauder vs. P-71 Crown Vic Interceptor

i just hafta say, we used to have an 85 interceptor, and that thing hauled some serious ass, i expect none less with the p71...then again, that marauder is really really nice....
choices....

I would take the marauder over the p-71. Im not sure what the marauder runs, but a crown vic police car only runs a 16.78 @83.45 mph. And they actually only make 215 horsepower believe it or not. You would think a police car would have more than that. But all this information is correct, I have the testing books from the police department with all of the accurate stats.

i dont know if people are dumb in here or what.(The ones that picked the interceptor),i hope i didn't offend anyone but come on how can you pick an interceptor 16v 4.6 over the 32v 4.6 i just dont get it plus this looks way better than a plain crown vic,the only argument that you could have is price wise.

well this isnt a muscle car
its slower than an Impala but it looks cool

8. Re: Mercury Marauder vs. P-71 Crown Vic Interceptor

You know as cool as the idea of having a cop car is they actually arent that good. They are very basic having NO CD or tape (sometimes NO RADIO), No carpet (rubber floor), CLOTH bucket front seat with no arm rest, ETC. Just a car to bust bad guys! NOW the MARAUDER has BALLZ and style! yea the p71 is quick but i just test drove a Marauder today, and I WAS IMPRESSED! You can feel and hear a major difference between the P71 and the Marauder (trust me I drive a P71 everyday), and Im not a big fan of ford, but i must say they have a winner (although it could use some styling to take away the Crown vic look). just through on a spot light and you have somthing FAR better than a P71 and you can say its an FBI car

I would take the Marauder over the Crown Vic anyday. Reasons being a stock Crown Vic vs. the Police Interceptro version in a 1/4 the stock Crown Vic is actually faster then the Police Interceptor. Now if I had to choose a police car I would go with the Caprice Police Interceptor. Its pretty much an Impala SS that says Caprice on it. Now if it was between the Caprice Interceptor and the Marauder the caprice owuld be my pick anyday

I LOVE my 03.The CVI is ok aswell.I pick my 03.Later

11. Re: Mercury Marauder vs. P-71 Crown Vic Interceptor

If theres 3 choices like a Chevy Caprice Interceptor, Mercury Marauder, P71 and i definitely would pick the caprice any day or anything that do performs well as the caprice LT1 9C1/Impala SS. I currently own a '94 9C1 and i love it everyday and can't even get bored with it. i got on side by side with my 9C1 to a mercury marauder and the guy looked at me and nodded and grinned at me as i gave him an thumbs up because its a cool looking car.

hey retard, the base crown vic does 16s on a bad day with 8 inch wide tires and an open diff. I own a P-71 and it does low 15s asshole, AND it weighs 4100 lbs unloaded.

13. The "muscle car." The police interceptor is overdone. As for a Caprice ( how did this come up again? ), it is a way to common, has a lousy transmission, plus trying to find one in good condition that didn't have the hell ragged out of it is hard. The majority of Caprices are owed by kids or low class folks. But anyway, my choice is that gorgeous Merauder.

14. Too bad there nothing like the originals !
