Monitors, regular or widescreen?

  1. ok looks like widescreen is the winrar.

  2. Although, frankly, the resolution is more important.

edit: fixed mistakes so kitsune-chan doesn't look stupid.

  3.
  4. word processing is also much better on widescreen, if you display two pages.

  5. oh hey, thats a great idea, never considered that.

  6. widescreen is best, you can fit more on the screen normally.

  7. Windscreen

  8. I just prefer the look of it for computing.

  9. Dual screen....one of each <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>

  10. Wide screen, pivoted if needed. Wide is better in every way, but when pivoting its worth noting that you better have a minimum of 1050 horizontal resolution. So only 22" and 24" really work.

  11. I just bought a 16:9 monitor. It's decent. Previously, I'd only ever owned 4:3, though at work I'm on widescreens.

For laptops, I think I prefer 4:3 for form factor. For desktops, I'm starting to prefer wide.

  12. Prescription

  13. 24 inch wide screen is the best option now at 1920 x 1200, and for what you get for your money

  14. My 23" was only 250 bucks on sale over thanksgiving.

Main complaint is the weird resolution: 2056x1152, meaning it has to scale down for horizontal and scale up for vertical if I play anything in 1080P.

  15. Widescreen is more natural.

  16. Big black bars when watching movies is no fun. You need widescreen. Get a free program called 'pivot' and you can display an entire word document.

  17. More evidence that widescreen is better.

  18. Widescreen is pretty much the new regular.

  19. I prefer 4:3. In fact, I prefer a 4:3 in portrait over a 4:3, much less 16:10. Widescreen is just not useful for browsing the web. How often to do scroll side-to-side? You don't need more horizontal real estate, you need vertical real estate.

  20. Widescreen is awesome. i have a 17" widescreen laptop, and dual widescreen monitors at work. going back to anything 4:3 just looks weird to me now

  21. that setup is boss

  22. I prefer regular screen monitor., but with two or three of them.

  23. I never thought about this before I tried my sisters 22" widescreen, after that I really wish I had one but I'm poor now <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>
