1. Re: Muscle cars rule

The muscle car did die in 1971, everything after that are just good V-8 sports cars. Muscle car= BIG displacement, Posi trac rearend, spoilers, louvers, lots of crome, wide tires (on the back of course), 3 or 4 speed's, dual exhuast, bucket seats, roll bars- you get the idea

The most important thing is no emissions controls- catalyic converters, etc.
2. Re: Muscle cars rule

yeah, emission controls DO suck. Thank God what few muscle cars remain dont needa get smog checked, AHAHAHAHA!
3. Re: Muscle cars rule

When the price of oil went up, almost all muscle cars came to an end. People could not afford the high gas prices.
4. Re: Muscle cars rule

such a sad occurrance...may the Muscle Car rest in peace...its reincarnation be reborn!
5. Re: Muscle cars rule

i will pay for the high cost of gas, cuz i love muscle cars.
6. Re: Muscle cars rule

Wannabe sports cars? You wanna talk wannabe sports cars, how about we discuss the fact that you can't even get a stick-shift in a Mercedes. Or that it it weighs over 2 tons, oooh now that's a flingable sports car. For what it is, a high-luxury, high-speed cruiser, it's quite impressive, but it is not a sports car. Sports cars have their max speed determined by either RPM or drag, not an electronic limit. Porsche, TVR, Ferrari, those are european sports cars. As for Mercedes, try again. Even the SLR McClaren, they had the help of the company holding the production speed and numerous acceleration records. And what do they produce? A 3500 lb. grand tourer with an automatic. It has to be incredibly powerful or it just wouldnt move. My purpose here isnt to disrespect Mercedes, or make this America vs. europe, it's to ask you not to talk out of your ass about American muscle.
7. Re: Muscle cars rule

Hey in Ohio we don't have to worry about emmissions, cuz they never check. If the did check well i would be in the deep stuff. My camaro runs a bit rich and by the way it smells, its not good for emission standards but who really cares, if they don't check.
8. Re: Muscle cars rule

Thats a nice statement.
9. Re: Muscle cars rule

it was a 1994 boss, not a 2000, and yea, that must be one hell of a ride, any boss would be an awesome ride.
10. Re: Muscle cars rule

Yeah, this car rulllzzz

I live in Europe and here are no muscle carzzz :`( Shit!!! We must use ugly european cars ... I hate most of them (excluding a few models) It's terrible... Most people use vw golfs and other ugly cars like mercedes 190 or ugly and terrible russian cars such as "giguli 1" this is a real crap on the wheels %)
It is possible to buy muscle car directly from America but our customs taxes are terrible... But I don't lose opportunity to buy someday real american muscle
11. Re: Muscle cars rule

You are awsome! Finally a European who loves American Muscle! Thats awsome!
12. Re: Muscle cars rule

Yeah moreover, I can say that I like only classic american cars. Not only muscle cars of the 70x. I think that most of old cars from 50x and 60x are also beatiful... For example plymouth fury 1958 (Christine) ... i think it rulllzz. But sadly, in Belarus (it was a republic of xUSSR) there are NO :`( classic american cars. For order's sake i must say, that here are a few classic american carzzz, but i can count them using my fingers . And their prices are terrible... And if you want to buy an old car from another country, for example, from America, you must pay awful customs duty...
Most of cars here are used cars from Germany, also here are a lot of russian cars, which are more terrible than cars from Germany
A favorite model for many people is vw golf ... with its mega powerful engine )))
How can i live in such terrible conditions - this is the question %)
13. Re: Muscle cars rule

The Golf is considered powerful over there?!
14. Re: Muscle cars rule

I totally agree.
15. Re: Muscle cars rule

It was a joke about "powerful" golf engine ))
But some people are golf fans, they tune them, race on them... As for me, I want to barf when I see this car ...
16. Re: Muscle cars rule

According to Motor Trend, there is a VW called a VW R32 which looks just like a Golf. It does 0-60 in 6.4 sec and a quarter mile in 14.50 sec. Then theres a spececial addition version called the HPA VW R32. Its really suped up. It does 0-60 in 3.2 sec and a quarter mile in 11.49 sec.
17. Re: Muscle cars rule

The first one sounds like crap. The latter sounds good.
18. Re: Muscle cars rule

Yeah the HPA VW R32 is pretty awsome! I don't think its offered here in the US though.

25. Re: Muscle cars rule

TO 426 Hemistage 8:
From what country are you?
In our country overwhelming majority of people think that really good cars are mercedeses, audies and so on...
When I show muscle car photos to friends - they say : " wow, dude, how can you think that this car is beautiful??? It's crap!!!" There are only a few friends who share my opinion...
When someone hear that I plan to buy a real muscle car someday, he says me that I'm madman and begins to talk that for this money I can buy mercedes
