Discussion in 'European Cars' started by M Division, Jul 6, 2006.

  1. Does anybody know how fast the Mclaren F1 is around the Nordschleife?

  2. Liek 10 seconds?

  4. suffice to say its quick <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>

  5. 7,45 - I dont believe it. simple as that. Given the right driver and the right conditions, suspension and so on, it would do a 7,10 minimum.

  6. ...

  7. well acctualy Mclaren F1 the production car was nutorius for its poor high speed handeling, because of lack of downforce. And Nordshlife is a highspeed track.

  8. If by 'the right conditions', you mean a cyclone that picks it up and carries it arounf the track, then yes it would do a 7:10 minimum.

  9. this post is *slightly* optimistic.

  10. I take it you have little knowledge about the Nurburgring and the times that are set there?

  11. he plays GT4 hes an expert

  12. Ahh yes ofcourse.

  13. Minimum ! I would even say it could lap it twice in 7.10 !

  14. On reverse gear.

  15. F1 is #$%#!ng fast, but it's a rocket!! Brakes gives you only -1.0g (modern supercars -1.2g or better) and handling is nothing special

  16. Mostly because it was not made to be a track car. Its handling is good enough for street conditions, And the suspension soft enough to make it confortable.

A lot of people in this forum tends to think that every supercar must perform at a track like a racecar, when in some cases, that's not the point. The Veyron is a good example. It wasn't made to be a track car, but a superfast luxury cruiser, and people complain about it being heavy.

  17. I would think the McF1 doens't have enough downforce to be a ring king.

  18. And it's to old.

  19. Michelin Pilot Sport Cups would make up for that ;-)

  20. Pity we dont have a billionaire enthusiast who would buy every supercar and have them performance tested on the ring.
True the Macca is old, but then it should be tested against its peers, the EB110 XJ220 and F50, sure it could also be modernised against current ones. (And I mean only brakes, tires, stiffer suspension)

  21. hahah

  22. Right.. I do play GT4 - and I do admit that 7,10 is optimistic, but I was just outraged by the 7,45 that I had to do something. But is it unrealistic, that McF1 with the GT-pack would do a 7,30-7,20 maybe? I don't think so - but hey, that's a GT4-drivers opinion.

  23. probably slower than the F50

  24. computer simulation, pfffft <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>

in real life you wouldn´t be able to achieve a lap time under 10 mins.

  25. it would definatley put up a good time, for sure.
