    Re: NE1 know the weight?

Well i found the weight, and there is a lot of it. In Popular Science magazine engineer Karl-Heinz Neumann is quoted as saying the weight is 4300lbs!!!!!!! Guess the all wheel drive and all the luxury crap really take there toll. That gives it a power to weight ration of 4.3 lbs per hp, which is slightly beter than that of the enzo, but all that weight must severly hurt the handling of the car. It looks like the veyron isnt going to be the all out performance car we all thought it would be.

    Here is the site:

Good link! With all the magazine subscriptions I have, you would think one of them would have published some hard data on the weight. Maybe I should start subcribing to Popular Science again. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

Oh, and while heavy cars tend not to perform as well as lighter cars, 4300 lb. doesn't necessarily mean it will be a poor performer. Remember the EB110 weighed right at 4000 lb. and it was a quite good all around performer, if not the most nimble thing on 4 wheels.
