#%$s who spend hundreds/thousands of dollars on a pc that will be obsolete in 6 months
My pc was under $700 and is like 10x better than any console out.
The iron sight on that gun is shit.
@Spyder, no, you're not the only one to use the AK w/reflex sight. I use it too along with the M14. It all depends on the situation though.
Why are people playing CoD4? It's the the blandest, most forgettable shooter I can think of.
...you forgot to say what the most colorful, most memorable shooter you can think of is. CS:S? Halo?
CS is the only thing that will run on his 10 year old PC <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>
Did you try the demo/buy it?
No I will buy tomorie probably. It's like Mario but more puzzlie and with time-rewinding.
so its kind of like Blinx on xbox?
If that game had been better quality I might have bought an xbox for it. but it was a bunch of great ideas with horrible execution. It did a lot of time altering with rewind, ffwd, pause etc sort of like what this Braid game does.
I love car games for my xbox 360, i can't wait for forza 3 to come out. Forza 2 was great and i had alot of fun online, i can't even imaging what cars forza 3 will have!
With their cooling, case mods, 10000rpm hard drives and +$400 video cards.
360 with smooth edges at 720p and 60fps =
8800GT, 2GB ram, +2Ghz Core2Duo
I'm ready for GTA4 with no faux draw distance. I think this will be the biggest change in the PC version. Exciting times!
i cant imagine either! Its so exciting to see what they come up with each time!! Just think, this time they could add some more porsches!! OMG!! simply incredible!
I don't understand this mentality at all. Everyone owns a computer these days and even most terrible family computers come with a reasonable cpu. That means that the only key component for a gaming computer these days is a videocard.
For most people getting a new videocard is akin to getting a gaming console. They already have a computer, but either a console or higher end card is going to be an expensive piece that is devoted almost entirely to entertainment.
It's true that you would have to drop about $500 every 6 months if you wanted to stay at the top in terms of performance, but it's not necessary. It's the same as buying a console, it's not like the console is going to magically get more powerful. You are stuck with it.
When a new console game comes out and it magically looks better there is normally a tradeoff. Resolution, draw distance, anti-aliasing, frame rate and many other aspects of the graphics can be compromised to hopefully increase the overall fidelity. This is exactly the same on a pc, except that the player can choose if they want to drop the resolution, AA, the framerate or whatever.
Owning a console for 3 years is exactly like owning the same expensive video card for 3 years, except when the requirements increase you have some choice as to what you want to compromise on a pc whereas on a console the developer makes the decision for you.
This of course is casting all other merits of the platforms aside. I just don't think the cost issue is as central to the argument as people think. With a pc you always have the choice of upgrading, but otherwise a video card is very similar to a console in terms of function, price and longevity.
I never actually played Blinx.
I fully understand being a noob and accepting that. That's a stupid reason for not liking a game. What I don't like is its unoriginality and flat out boring unrealistic gameplay.
The v1.5 patch for Warhawk is looking pretty sweet! <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/grin.gif"></A>
it can go either way. I slightly enjoyed it, and had others play it that loved it. its an ok game, its just for "other" types of gamers.
I'd play it as a last resort, or if my CoD4 disc explodes.
or trophies, as I will be doing after the 27th. ha.
Left 4 Dead making debut at PAX
Left 4 Dead, a Gauntlet-like survival-horror game set to release on PC and Xbox 360 this November, will make its public debut on Xbox 360 at Penny Arcade Expo (PAX), Valve announced today.
Left 4 Dead, a survival co-op action game, will be playable on PC at a series of upcoming events, including Leipzig Games Convention, (Germany), Festival du Jeu Video (France), and PC Gamer Showdown (UK). However, the worldwide debut of the Xbox 360 version will be at PAX, in Seattle, WA.
In addition to being able to play the game, the PAX-attending public will also be able to chat with members of the development team and snag some Left 4 Dead memorabilia.
And this Braid game is f*cking brilliant, but do I have to buy 2000 MS points to spend 1200? That's BS
Stores sell 1400 point cards for $20 in Canada. The $/point ratio is roughly equal if you buy points through credit card on your gamertag. If you can get point cards in stores on sale (rare but happens, usually 10% off) then it's a better buy.
I personally would only buy point cards, I don't want to link my credit card to my gamertag since it's apparently hard to unlink.
Are you looking forward to the 1Up Yours crew doing a live show from PAX again this year?
Actually, the best thing would be for Braid to just come out on PC/OSX soon, since you could buy it in real dollars and it would control better (the D-pad on the 360 controller is garbage, and controlling with the analog stick sucks)... the graphics are just 2d sprites (albeit really nice HD ones) so it'd run fine on nearly anything.
edit -- BTW here is video: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/38031.html
Definitely! Apparently the 1UP guys will be throwing a 21+ party on Saturday night that I plan to attend.
And EA just announced the games they'll be showing at PAX this year...
Dragon Age Origins
Rock Band 2
Need For Speed: Undercover
