Seeing the car in person feels really different from seeing its photos. I have to say I like it! BTW this is not for GTI.
Looks pretty much like a Fiat Stilo. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>
Somewhere in between. I'm not wild yet about the looks or interior design, but it apparently drives great.
I think its a bit disappointing that the Jetta and Golf now share so much sheet metal... I mean the front ends are exactly the same for both cars, the design is rather bland and undistinctive... but well, quality should be at least as good or better than the Mk IV models.
No, quality is worse than the Mk IV. This time, VW spent its budget on the chassis and had to save on the interior furnishings (obviously the direct opposite of what they did with the IV). It's been a long time since I've been so disappointed with a new range than the cars that VW has spun of the Mk V chassis so far. The Touran is summed up quite simply by Car Magazine ("They forgot to style it."), and the Golf isn't any better. VW have become the new Opel/Vauxhall
Nay. I have driven the 1,6 and compared to the IV it is better, but not much. I did expect more. Wonder how the 140hp diesel and the GTi are... Lookswise it's still boring.
