7. You people give the Wild too little respect. Ever since we've gotten Gaborik back from injury we've been running on all cylinders. If we had him for the 34 games he missed he'd have over 120 points and our team would be first in the Western Conference and the NHL overall. But that's neither here nor there.

My picks:

Buffalo
New Jersey
Atlanta
Ottawa

Calgary
MINNESOTA
Vancouver
San Jose

Northwest division dominance in the 1st round. All of them are playing HOT right now and have HOT goalies. That is the key in the playoffs.

8. East:

Buffalo vs NYI
Buffalo in 5. Short of Dubie pulling some kind of crazy shit out of his ass, this shouldn't even be a contest.

New Jersey vs Tampa Bay
New Jersey in 5. Goaltending > no goaltending. End of story.

Atlanta vs NYR
Atlanta in 6. Holik will shut down Jagr and beyond that, the Rangers have nothing. Shanahan? Avery? Please. Lundqvist will keep it respectable, but he's just not that good.

Ottawa vs Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh in 6. Fleury is a stud. Then there's the whole Crosby, Malkin, Staal thing. Their blueline will hurt them and Ottawa will give them a run for their money, but Fleury will save the day between the pipes and Ottawa they can't handle these guys up front. Should have kept Chara somehow.

West:

Detroit vs Calgary
Calgary in 7. Detroit is too old and banged up. Plus, Kipper > Hasek. This will be a hell of a series, but Calgary takes it.

Anaheim vs Minnesota
Anaheim in 5. I like Minnesota a lot, but I can't see them pulling this one out. Anaheim just has too many weapons.

Vancouver vs Dallas
Vancouver in 6. Another epic Marty Turco collapse? I say yes. Luongo will be a stud and Naslund will step up, now that the Sedins have taken some pressure off him.

Nashville vs San Jose
Nashville in 7. Should be another good one. I like Nashville because of two reasons: A) Peter Forsberg is a #$%#ing animal in the playoffs and he actually appears to be healthy, so he's going to do a lot of damage and B) Vokoun/Mason are better than Nabokov/Toskola. They'll start Vokoun and Nabokov, but by the end of the series, Vokoun will be up against Toskola.

This is the opinion of science.

#3 Vancouver
#5 San Jose

10. Detroit has been "old and banged up" for years. Detroit will take Calgary in 5 games

11. #1 Buffalo
#2 Tampa
#3 ATL

15. In the past three seasons, they were knocked out in the first round twice and in the second round once. They also currently have a banged-up 42 year-old goalie between the pipes. Were you trying to make a point somewhere in there?

16. Sabers
Lightning
Thrashers
Sens

Flames
Wild
Canucks
Predators

Canucks will take it this year. Roberto is on fire same with the twins. Islanders can burn in hell for putting out the leafs

17. They were just as old and banged up last time they won the cup. Coincidentally they also had the same banged-up goalie.

18. #$%# Calgary.

19. They also had guys like Yzerman on the team. And that banged up goalie was 4 years younger.
