  1. UGH. Ik herhaal: UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    I think they left their brains in Detroit. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/disappointed.gif"></A>

  2. Yea, that was one of the more horrible performance the Wings have put on in the past few years, combined with the Pens firing on all cylinders.

They can't get back to Detroit fast enough!

  5. What an EPIC win for the WINGS! They showed tonite why they're the best in the world. They play like a well oiled machine, methodical, they never retaliate when Pittsburgh's goons attack them.

And Pittsburgh has now committed 2 suspendible offenses - Malkin's instigator in the last minute of game 2 and yesterday, Max Talbot's slash to Datsyuk's foot, which was obviously a targeted attack. Too bad the NHL doesn't have the balls to enforce their own rules...

Oh well, I'm not too worried about it, Wings bounced back from a pitiful game 4 and showed how well they can play and I'm confident they'll be raising the cup again very soon!

  6. dats is back, prepare to die

  7. See you back in Detroit.

  8. It was fun listening to the crowd every time hossa got the puck.

  9. Oh man, I hate this rabbit kid so much. I would probably like the Red Wings if it wasn't for him. Guess what rabbit, you're a douchebag loser whether Detroit wins or not. Yes, this is an angry post.

  10. lol ^^, was not a bad game, but detroit with home ice = good chance of win. Also, I can't believe they didn't call that penalty on pittsburgh, where the forward lifted the wings player with his stick infront of the ref. How do you not see that, unless bettman paid you.

  11. Regardless of what happened tonite, game 7 will be the most epic hockey game most of us have ever seen and win or lose, I can't wait to watch the Wings play.

I'd love Marian Hossa to score an OT cup winner though!

  12. Oh please, don't start the Bettman crap.

  13. There have been plenty of game 7's in the stanley cup. I dont see why this would be the, "most epic hockey game most of us have ever seen."
Just because your team is in it.

  14. Classless.

  15. How many times have you seen the same two teams duke it out in the finals in consecutive years and go to game 7? Especially with the wunderkinderen of Pittsburgh and the peerless depth of Detroit? It may not be the most epic game EVER, but certainly in a while.

  16. Let's also not forget it's a rematch of last year's finals.

  17. no game 7 there

  18. This.

Also casually watching this series, the first couple games were crap anyway. It'll be an interesting rebound if the Pens do take it but that's it. Also for all their talent Detroit plays Vancouver Canucks style hockey or vice versa, just they do it better. The get ahead and pull out the defensive trap is part of what is killing the NHL.

  19. Doesn't matter. Two finals matchups in consecutive years is what matters. What matters is that there are personal feelings of hate building up between the players as well as the fans. Though the teams come from different conferences, this could become a bitter rivalry in the years to come. I realize it won't be Red Sox / Yankees but it's the type of thing that the NHL needs to keep growing. We've already seen the highest television ratings in this series since before the infamous lockout of 04/05.

  20. Bitter rivals?

They are baisically never going to play each other unless both teams keep meeting eachother in the finals. Inter-conference rivalries are a non-starter. As far as the players go it'll be dead in less than ten years unless by some travesty both teams make the final again.

Ratings can be attributed to two things. One the novelty of a repeat, but mostly the economic downturn. All forms of escapism do relatively better in downturns. Professional sports certainly count.

  21. The Cowboys and Steelers rivalry of the NFL is arguably still one of the greatest rivalries in the history of the game.

  22. Shorter season + a tiny fraction of the amount of games + well established rivalries already in existence... Not the same thing. And this is definitely nowhere close to the most dirty series in this playoffs.

    I don't see it.

  23. You're being closed-minded. The rivalry has to start somewhere. And throw that fraction garbage out. The only time those teams met was in the superbowl - one game a season. The wings/pens will have met nine times this season/postseason.

  24. It might be a possibility that my hatred of the wings is coloring my opinion, but if you wanted something good for the NHL a Chicago cup would have been HUGE!...
