    Naaaaw, really?!

  2. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

    Nissan.

  3. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

what do u mean by that?

i've heard too many Ferrari fans say da F50 is a pain in da ass to drive. Merc is too heavy and doesn't look as good as da R390.

  4. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

For one thing, I wasnt questioning XR SICK like I didnt know what he was talking about, I was questioning the general public.
And yes(to your comment), I realize that stuff. I just meant it the same way you did, and that was the point I (before) was making.

  5. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

    ok

  6. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

CLK-GTR's way faster, so i'm for that. I don't quite get u guys. The CLK-GTR is more expensive, i no, but if u were rich enough, get it. But Turbo on it. The CLK-GTR has 600hp, with no turbo. The Nissan R390 GT1 has 549hp, with twin-turbo. It just shows ya, the germans make more effisent engines than the Japs, although, the Japs are still wicked, and Japanese is my favourite language. So my opinion is get the CLK-GTR, AND PUT TURBO ON IT!!!!!!!!! maybe even twin-turbo. It could be as good as the Dauer 962 LM, and the Bugatti 16/4 Veyron. I would much perfer that over this or an F50. If it was an F50 GT, i would vote for that. (but i'd still want the CLK-GTR more)

  7. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

yeah but the lightest CLK GTR is 500kgs heavier than the R390. R390 looks better aswell. yes german cars are alot better than japanese cars but i'd still take d R390 over the CLK GTR ne day.

  8. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

    merc

  9. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

  10. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

the R390 is a sick @ss car but i voted for the CLK GTR if youre talking about speed.

  11. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

i think its about which one u'd prefer, but kinda both. if this was just about speed then i think this poll would be a CLK GTR blowout.

  12. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

Man, though pick. You would probably need two michael schumacers to race thesee to make it a fair race

  13. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

    LOL

  14. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

    5000, if not 10000.

  15. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

What's the displacement of the CLK-GTR(something like 6-7 litres and a V12 layout)? There is the difference. This 3.5l V8 TT is alot more lighter and so more suitable for a GT-1 car. Still it is very durable and I believe that it can handle easily over 600hp.

  16. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

Someone correct me if im wrong but te R390 GT1 is the road-going version of the R390 race car that competed at Le Mans in some year i forget. Since there is a Horsepower limit at Le Mans they didnt give it anymore horsepower. AND FOR ALL YOU AMERICAN CAR LOVERS, CONSIDER YOURSELF KICKED!!! If the Skyline is a radioactive lizzard, the R390 is GODzilla on SPEED!

  17. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

yes u r quite right in saying that this is the road going version of the r390 race car that comoeted in Le Mans. the race version has got over 600bhp though.

  18. Re:

Sorry but an 11.9 quarter mile just isn't correct. Either it was a crappy driver or just the wrong number. This car weighs 1000 pounds less than the CLK GTR, and isn't short by that much horsepower.

The power to weight of the nissan is .23 hp/lb
    the mercedes is .18 hp/lb.

That much of a power to weight difference (the nissan has 27% more) would mean that the nissan would just eat the mercedes alive on the track.

  19. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

hey man how can you compare an f50 to a mercedes and not to a mclaren. the f50 smokes both of them round the track especially the mclaren. thats pretty impresive considering the f50 only has 513 hp and the clk has round 600 and the mclaren 627, plus it weighs like 500 pounds less than the f50. just embarassin...

  20. Re: Re:

dude the CLK outruns this thing by a mile so power/weight ratio is pretty much insignificant look at an s2000 and a mustang, the s2000 has a way better ratio but the stang will WHIP on the r!ce rocket. given that i'd say that they handle about the same because the heavy cars that no one thinks handles well really surprise people. Besides....the R390 is jap crap and on any other day i'd defend it (because i respect some of them) but since i just saw a little japan electric pussy car commercial, i think ill chose to bash the nissan today. And for the F-50, its unheard of in this comparison

  21. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

I will take the Ferrari F50

  22. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

This is a Japanese God Car.

God Car Period. I have never seen such specs on a street legal.

1 mill USD...if I had the money I'll take it over my wife and kids :p

  23. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

If you did turbocharge the clk gtr, it would have way too high of compression and it would exoplode. And btw the r390 gets my vote.

  24. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

id take the r390 any day. id love to tell some curious inquirer that the car is japanese and not italian.

now, what was the nissan driver on and how can i get some? it apparently worked great.

everyone remember that the peak HP and torque numbers are a measure of the power that the engine makes at a certain point. the merc has twice the displacement and half-again the cylinders of the nissan, and even though the nissan lacks peak power by only 50 or so, its power range is less. that helps explain why a new mustang GT can administer a thrashing to the face of an S2000. 'there's no replacement for displacement'

  25. Re: Nissan R390 GT-1 vs. Ferrari F50 vs. Mercedes CLK GTR

You guys are the biggest noobs of all the internet car forums. Making statments that are so rediculous it's halarious. Like that one dude saying "turbocharge the merc" yet the dumbass didn't even bother to look at the engine specs, which is double the displacement of the r390. And to the guy talking about putting $20k underneath a s2000 and domestic only knows about horsepower. There's so many more things to automobiles than just horsepower, how bout gear ratios? How bout traction? Weight? Aerodynamics? You #$%#ing noob, try thinking first, then speaking, but don't think about something as dumb as what you said then say it. Just shut up if it's going to be like that. And then what, where are you going to drive a 800rwhp car? On your street? Ya, then think about buying gas, then think about insurance, then think about maintanance...tires? You will probably need 335's for this application, which would run a good $200+ per tire. Have fun turning poor. So for all you #$%#ing Fast and the Furious noobs, try studying the cars instead of watching them race on some street racing bullshit. It's great that there's competition, but when it all comes down to it, ALL THE #$%#ING CARS IN THE WHOLE #$%#ING WORLD WORK THE SAME WITH THE SAME LAW OF PHYSICS APPLIED TO THEM SO IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S MERCEDES OR A GEO METRO, THEY ALL USE COMBUSTION TO MAKE IT MOVE. If you're going to say car a is going to beat car b and car a is a v8 and car b is a v6, no #$%#ing shit because you're throwing more fuel into it. But what if b is turbo'd? Then there's more of a match. Or if it's lighter, etc. So can you mother #$%#ers please think about what you're saying before saying it?!
