Oh yeah, the ZR-1 also happens to have a few extra goodies, its supercharged, increased displacement, performance chip, mass air flow sensor, K&N air filter, cold air induction, borla exhaust/headers, totally stripped out interior(took out the radio, passenger seat, carpet, AC, etc.) plus aftermarket tranny, suspension, and tires. Don't mess with Honda ehh? What are they gonna turn out that can keep up with that?

Although just to be fair, when Car & Driver tested it, the best it ran was a 12.7 in the 1/4, which still happens to be a tenth of a second faster than the cars you listed.(note that the Z06 is also cheaper than the cars listed as well) As you know, the Corvette ZR-1 had a twin-cam, 32 valve LT-5 V8 that also produced 405 bhp, and was almost identical to the engine used in the Z06, with a few changes, giving the Z06 400 lbs-ft of torque opposed to the ZR-1's 371 lbs-ft. The ZR-1 runs a 13.1 quarter, beating 3 of the 4 cars listed above. Yes, the porsche 911. The C5 Vette runs a 13.3 quarter, also beating the porsche, the ferrari, and the skyline. The 98 Z28 Camaro ran a 13.8 quarter mile, not bad at all for a car that costs under 30 grand brand new. The 2001 Mustang Cobra runs a 13.5 quarter mile.

Re: NO one mess with HONDA NSX Type S is not the fastest NSX, NSX-R and NSX Type S Zero are faster. So you can expect they are a couple 0.1 sec faster. AAnd if you have seen the clip in the site I posted, you would have seen how fast the NSX launches. The car doesn't need tons of power to go fast, but of course, I would want more power ( who wouldn't??).<!-- Signature -->

oh come on How could you guys argue this. It's obvious American cars on the SC list generally have at least 8 cylinders and most all of the imports have 6 cylinders or less. With a few exceptions 6cyl wont take 8cyl off the line or in the 1/4mi anywhere. It's clear as day. So yes, Honda will turbocharge and toyota will turbo charge. That's how they keep up. But look at the supra - Twin Turbo 6 cylinder. That pumps out huge power when you hit those RPMs - It can probably beat a handful of Mustangs and T/As out on the roads. I like the new body 2dr Honda Accords like the 6 Cylinder EX because its a sharp car and pretty quick. But it obviously cant compete with a Cobra or even a GT stang. I don't like all the civics though - all those ridiculous ground fx and big honkin' wings. So ultimately what I'm saying is yes, the American cars like Mustangs and Trans Ams and Camaros will rough up a honda real good, but that doesn't make Honda or Toyota a ridiculous car company.
Re: NO one mess with HONDA i dont get why all you domestic people ***** about how imports suck. if you look at the best sellers. imported cars beat domestic in everything except trucks. so if you want to ***** go to a truck site. and imports will continue to kick ass. when the hybrid(gas and electric) cars start to be popular imports will still beat domestic in hp and economy. honda has a new hybrid car with like 45 miles per gallon and with 400hp!!!!!
