I'm actually quite disappointed by the use of a twin-turbo V8. Also, the Renault-esque front bumper looks silly. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>
im more then dissapointed, its terrible. Iknow they were going for something less then the McL F1 but this?????shit
i guess they kind of had to do this. The f1 is too good. they should make cars like this for a couple years, then go for the "next f1"
Silly name! Kinda named after their '97 F1 car which only won 3 races in the season! I'm also dissapointed! I was expecting it to be a Bugatti rival!
what???? your disappointed by a twin turbo v8?? i would rather have a twin turbo v8 then a v12. the tt v8 is lighter with just as much hp
You're an idiot, and no one cares about your opinion. You might say you're not an idiot, but you are because you're too stupid to even find your way on to the main forum you n00b. Here it is! http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?viewForums=y
u are totally rite TT V8 is lighter but V12 is more classy it was the stardard for old 90's supercars
looks are a bit generic supercar, but overall i quite like it. a 600hp TT 3.8 litre v8 is an inspired idea, plus it isnt meant to compete with bugatti or the hyoercars in anyway, its main targets being the lambo lp560-4 and the upcoming ferrari 458 italia
You know what I totally agree about '90s supercars, as well. But according to Motor Trend this in direct competition with what Ferrari and Lamborghini have already released. To me the styling cues are well excuited on this vehicle, too. Just my own personal opinion, also the V-8 twin turbo future performance testing sounds tantalizing to me, as well.
i'm a bit underwhelmed by this. i was expecting a bit more than this from the guys at mclaren. i have a feeling the italia will run rings around this thing... we'll have to wait and see. given the choice, i'd still have the lp560-4. it just seems better....
but this should be much better than the f1. if they pulled that off so many years ago, pumping out the same performance for a lot less today isn't groundbreaking....
McLaren specifically made this car to be in a certain category of cars... they weren't attempting to beat the F1... Here is a quote from the article on the car from this site if what i said doesn't make sense "the McLaren MP4-12C, is a high performance two-seat mid-engine model in the 'core' sports car market segment for cars costing between £125,000 and £175,000...The 'core' segment runs from around £125,000 to £175,000 featuring such cars as the Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche 911 Turbo, Bentley Continental GT and Aston Martin DB9. A second segment is the 'high' category with prices ranging from £175,000 to £250,000 and consists largely of front-engined GT cars such as Ferrari's 599 GTB and 612, with just one mid-engined contender, the Lamborghini Murcielago. The final segment is the 'ultimate' group, a sector more or less initiated by the McLaren F1 in 1993 and now populated by a select group of cars including the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, Bugatti Veyron, and cars from the likes of Pagani and Koenigsegg that followed legends such as the Porsche Carrera GT and Ferrari Enzo. In 2011, McLaren will bring technology and performance exclusive to this 'ultimate' sector into the 'core' segment." hope this helps you understand
