  1. In September 1998 Road & Track did a full road test on a 1997 Porsche GT1 Race car and here are the numbers.

    0-30 - 1.6
    0-40 - 2.1
    0-50 - 2.6
    0-60 - 3.4
    0-70 - 4.3
    0-80 - 4.9
    0-90 - 5.5
    0-100- 6.2
    0-110- 7.3
    0-120- 8.2

    1/4 mile - 10.9@139.5 mph.

    skidpad - 1.07 G

Top Speed 174 mph and thats with specific gearing for Homestead race track where it was tested.

i LOVE the road version as well. its funny how some road cars have better performance then these race cars, but then again who has the skill to drive these cars the way they should be? not many and certianly not me.

The reason why road cars have better statistics than the race versions? FIA regulations!

FIA imposes regultations on engine size, airflow restrictors, safety equipment, weight etc. Which you do not have to comply with when you build an extreme supercar. The Porsche GT1 is one example of this, TVR Speed 12 is another.

  8. WOW, thats an unreal 0-100, serious g's happenin there.
