Yeah, what's wrong w/ givin your opinion

  3. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

i could simply go into the saleen S7 forum, and do the same. it only goes throgh the slaloms at 65mph. its only got 5 cu.ft. of cargo room. it has a 40/60 f/r weight distribution.

in other words, we have bad things on everything. why go talk badly about something? yes this car isnt popular with alot of people, but they could learn that they are morons just by coming in and simply saying "This car sucks fatties". they should at least have proof to back it up. the saleen has its probs, and i know it...do i do that stuff though? give us a chance to give info and ways to get around a prob.

OK, here's my opinion, and I don't care if you don't agree. I've driven the delorean bf. Low milage, great shape, 5spd, almost flawless really...It looked fantastic, but that was about it.
The car does not perform nearly as well as you say it does. '71 240z is still a much more enjoyable car. I can understand wanting to justify having a poser car by making it seem like one of the best performance cars of its time. Bringing up the corvette of the 80s doesn't help, that car is awful. I'd rather buy a porsche 944/924 if I wanted a car from the early/mid 80s.

This car shift poorly, has a sloppy engine, and does not handle on rails. Ever try and drive it in the rain? I noticed you didn't mention that. It is damn near undrivable if you have to make turns. In that case I'd rather have an Audi Quattro. The car I drove was a friend of mine's, he loves it but he knows it's only good for looking good. He drives a camry 90% of the time, b/c he can't drive the dmc..

I can understand a bias towards this car if you own it. I'm bias towards the SVX, but I'll never try and say it can compete w/ a 90s 300zx, rx7, or even a vette.

  10. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

    but our car actually DID.

no shit its hard, its rear engine. so is 911.

  11. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

Ok sloppy engine????? what the hell are u talking about #%$???

In the rain no problem the only reason i dont talk about it is b/c i dont want to get the chasis wet until i refinish it. In the snow better than a toyota 4 runner once moving. not when stopped.

Ok i dont compete with my D b/c i love it too much plus im not stupid. Its always the ohther driver who wants to race. But this thing is much more agile than a vette or a zx maybe its just you cant drive worth shit.

lol! yeah, he drives a civic right? that explains it. rear wheel drives and front wheel drives take corners differently smart ass! even i know that. its all about the gas.

  13. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

i think that the Toyota MR-2 of this hey day would of gave this car a good run.

  14. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

still depends. i dont like the mr2 because it looks funny, but d take one. then i d sell it and get a D, but hey. i think id be made fun of more with an mr2 than a D.

  15. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

It looks great, or did in its day, but 120mph is fairly low end for a family hatchback, letalone the "back to the future" car . It's a shame really, put a decent engine in it and it would have been smokin'. No doubt the flames will now start "i dont understand this car" etc, but at the end of the day, there are better, (much) faster and much nicer looking cars from the same era, and that, ladies and gents, is why the DeLorean was such a failure. Without the movie I doubt it would even be remembered.

  16. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

im out of rage firestarter, you get dibs.

  17. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

Relax man, there is no need for "rage". Its only a car, and a nice one at that. Is it a supercar though? A harder question to answer.

  18. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

i was kidding. any way, yeah. it competed with the big dogs of the day, there for it is.

  19. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

Well, compare it to a '79 countach / '81 ferrari / '80 lotus esprit etc etc and I cant really agree.

  20. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

Yes but compare prices and hp. Delorean could handle as good as the Ferrari 388 but had upto 70hp less.

  21. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

Twin Turbo for the last time Twin Turbo was said to be one of the fastest cars in the 80s.

But this car was so different from any other car in the 80s thats why its special

  22. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

its special in all cars. its the onlt one with stainless steel panels.

  23. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

My Trailblazer goes faster! It has 270hp!

  24. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

The only thing that sold this car was Back to the Future

  25. Re: Ok, to clear up performance come here.

hummmm Deloreans were made in 81-83, Back to the future made in 1985 it did help the value yes but from the start ppl had them for a collector car.
